You know what Mark? Your videos set me off on luring and gave me all the pointers I needed to get started on what has become a favourite way of fishing for me. You're a great teacher and your videos are entertaining and full of good info. You must feel a loss at not doing the live streams any more but thanks for all the work you've put into your vids. kind words indeed, thanks phil👍 lure fishing is so convenient isn't it, you can just grab a rod and go for an hour here and there, at this time of year I love it, hopefully you'll like a few of my future videos as there's plenty more to cover on the subject👍

@@MarkCarp Convenient and addictive Mark. I have a 6ft lure rod broken down in the boot of the car permanently with a box of lures and a net. Lost count of the number of times I have had a quick hour when I could. Even got up early when working away to have a dabble in some waterway near the hotel.. I always have a check on access first but a lot of city canals are not association controlled and a waterways wanderer permit from the canal and river trust covers you. thanks dan👍 I do far more carp fishing than anything else but it's a crowded space on youtube and the lure/barbel fishing are the more popular videos for me, that surprises me but there's obviously a demand for it and I think that balance showed in the lives which always had more lure than carp. I've got more carp content on the way for sure so I hope you find your way back here. all the best for 2020 mate👍

what a shame, I loved coming in on ur lives mate. however I totally understand and respect the reason behind it, maybe do a live every few months like myself, space them out to 4 a year, just as a catch up with ur good self. the pressure u had to produce every weds must have been huge. you smashed it in my opinion. top man! cant wait to see ur videos in future pal, keep safe, be well and happy new year to you and all ur family. youtube is brutal dub, you're making content for people who have very short attention spans, whilst some are happy to just chill out and join in the vast majority have an instant gratification kind of attitude, if they don't get what they want in a few minutes they're off!. The lives clearly weren't working and with everything else going on it's the easiest and most sensible thing to cut out. I'll miss them a bit myself but it's onwards and upwards, all the best for 2020 mate and thanks for your time👍

yeah it's done some real damage, apart from the subs my views nearly doubled since I stopped!, I'm taking some time out from my own personal fishing between now and spring so i'll literally just be filming every Saturday from now on so hopefully the new content won't be long👍

Fishbrain is a very good app to get your channel noticed mate

not sure about fishbrain Andrew, I remember them offering dom an incentive to use and promote it but I think it might be counter productive for a youtuber, we want people on this platform watching videos not going off to fish brain?, I see them more as a rival than a help if that makes sense👍

Mark I can see that in analytics some people switch off notifications because of lives and then even though they stay subbed they lose knowing when a video is out! gives you the chance to build the channel videos more and look after your family!!!! onwards and upwards mark!!!!!!

I think switching off notifications is as bad as someone unsubbing in the end Darrell?, it was the sub count I was looking at, averaging -3 per live!, like you say it gives me a chance to build the video content and that's what intend to do, thanks for the time you spent on the lives mate and all the best for 2020👍

cheers gareth, yeah I remember them hounding you out, I ended up banning a few of the fake accounts, they had no bearing on my decision to knock the lives on the head though, funnily enough you're not the only one to say I've made a good choice, i'm sure I have and hopefully you'll like whatever I come up with next.
