62 year old Chelsea man here. Very well written. You painted a vivid picture both with your prose and especially with your narration. It had the intoxicating buzz of those faraway days and nights, akin to a rather visceral Radio 4 play for today but with jabby pointy things and plenty of claret.

I was up the Freetown early 90s too. S Malbern on the doors. Wednesday was Reggae Night when all the Cobridge lads came down. Later became Robateaux's. Used to go up Kinetic/Entropy in Longton too..old bus station after Shelly's was shut down by Old Bill. Carl Cox & MC Ragga 😄 Some proper culture music & football. Early 90s was when Lou Macari became manager. Some great away days.Never forget St Andrews away April 1992. Great Days. The best of Times. COYMP.
