Mark discusses the tragedy of his father's suicide at an early age, the impact this had on his own life and on his mental health, and how the legacy of loss steered Mark to plan the taking of his life.
In comparing his life to a car journey, Mark reminds us that occasionally we all need a bit of roadside assistance, and that contrary to the notion that men must project an appearance of strength, it's actually okay to not be okay.
Mark overcame his suicidal ideation by accepting that he needed help and by discussing the way he was feeling with his family. Mark now receives the support he needs to live a full and happy life, and helps others in the community to do the same. #recovery #mentalhealthmatters #
