At "Elephant Room 2" TD Jakes explained his modalism theology. Mark Driscoll declared he had no problem with Jakes theology. Jakes was not challenged by the other pastors (James MacDonald, Steven Furtick, Wayne Cordeiro & Crawford Loritts) present.

Thank you! I don't know why that's hard to comprehend. People are more worried about how the "calling out" was unbiblical. But no one is talking about the actual act. That should not have on display in the church ever. I don't know Pastor Mark that well, but on this viewpoint, I agree 100 percent with him. He shouldn't apologize. Period

I just watched Justin Peters' video about this and there were a lot of comments praising Driscoll and rebuking Justin. So get prepared everyone to see people comment who won't take time to watch the video. Driscoll's history is awful but somehow he still has followers.

I took the Middle Road Yes, Justin was 100% (and then some) Right to Rebuke Driscoll for his Lies, but also a little in Error himself for not Condemning the Act on the Stage. Dubious Purposes notwithstanding, the Rebuke of the Act was, just for once, a case of a "broken clock being right twice in a day" , at least IMO.

Justin Peters doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with the sword swallowing (just a top professional doing his job) at this conference. Whereas, Kdub clearly addresses the problem with it. That’s where the difference will be, I think.

Justin Peters video last night showed this is Driscoll’s MO. He has always been a publicity hound and narcissist and planned this. He knew this sword guy was scheduled beforehand and has attended this strange event since 2017. Peter’s video showed Driscoll called his publicity department before the Strange Fire conference too cause he was going to “stir things up” then lied on Facebook saying they confiscated his books when he gave them to them. Obviously he didn’t know he was on video. The “church” that had this conference is a WOF false church and proves they have no discernment. Well done Kdub, this has put Driscoll in the limelight which is exactly what he wanted. God bless🙏

I saw that video and found it very informative. I never heard of Mark Driscoll before this incident and I hope never to hear of him again. God will deal with him for sure. He’s not leading the flock, he’s deceiving the flock.

I love most of JP’s stuff but his disdain for Driscoll took over in his rebuke and he was concerned with Driscoll rather than rebuking the sword swallowing homosexual. I mean, the crowd, who were supposed to be Christian men, seem to agree with the rebuke. But hey, who am I.

Lets keep it real. There is a planning committee that puts these events together. There had to have been a vote to bring these people/speakers to speak/perform at these events. This speaks volumes of the planning committee and the pervision that is deep in their heart. And the fact that the Pastor obviously didnt see anything wrong with having a stripper and rebuking Driscoll is horrible. And the men who were screaming at Driscoll....there had to have been gay men in the audience. Unfortunately, these are the times we are living in.

Mark Driscoll and John Lindell's relationship goes back to the time Mars Hill fell. I know this because my family and I were a part of James River Church for 16 years.

@@Kdubtru Yep...so Mark Driscoll has been to at James River Church 4/5 times..he has spoken at the Men's Conference before and he did the Song of Solomon Conference there also. He has also spoken at the sizzling summer Sundays at James River Church. So they have history. And John Lindell knows exactly who he was dealing with when it comes to Driscoll.

I have to frequent remind myself that God is ultimately in control of EVERYTHING. I think He allowed this for a reason. I think this brought something to the limelight for everyone to see. I think this is to make us think about the marks of a true Christian and call us all to a higher standard. Why were all those men present ok with the show. Why did not one say anything. Why did it take Driscoll for something to be said? Why didn’t men walk out during the show. Idk just thinking about it all. I don’t side with Mark in his motives or behavior if it was for reasons many others have brought up. But God is in control and uses the bad fit his good. #foodforthought

If you have ever watched Pastors Marks sermons, he uses the term “verbal processing a lot”. I don’t think he had planned to make a statement about the entertainment while giving his teaching, I believe he felt, in that moment, that the Holy Spirit probably lead him to say something which is why I don’t think he brought it up to Pastor John. As far as his book goes, that book has been out for a year or two and is free; it’s based upon a sermon series he did on 1st & 2nd Kings. He always releases a somewhat study guide/book when he does a sermon series which people would know if you go to his website.

I agree. The Bible says you are to go to your brother privately to air your grievance, then to a few more if he is not repentant, then to elders if he is still not repentant. In any case, the whole image of a male on a pole doing anything is absolutely unnecessary to get a biblical point across unless you're depicting Jesus on a cross.

Why would his church elders say that he calls his publicist before pulling these stunts? There is video proof of him gifting those books to Macarthur 's staff then seconds later posting they were confiscated. Something isn't right about what he's doing.

Consider this, was Paul wrong to call out Peter in Galatians? If you look up the word in Matthew 18, "offense" means sins. Additionally, the book of Acts openly rebuked other Christians for blasphemy or wrong doctrine. I know scripture to be prescriptive and descriptive. I believe when heresy is found, hence why Corinthians is so good, immediate correction WITH GODLY COUNCIL is the answer no matter what it looks like as Mike could be right by being filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit. Let us be slow to righteously judge and be careful when executing judgements. Many other Acts stories show that Mike could be in the right - remeber Balaam in the Old Testament? God can use anyone no matter the person's intent and control someone's mouth.

Rebuke is needed, in some situations when the church don't hear you, when the Person doesn't you kick that person out. A rebuke to the pastor John, should of been done privately, then if he didn't hear, I don't know maybe you can talk openly. A pastor should not be letting that happen pole, taking off shirt, this is something the pastor should know is wrong. ❤😢

For anyone who doesn't know Driscoll he was the "pastor" long ago at Mars Hill Church where he told people that if you didn't get in line with his vision he would "run you over with the bus" and bragged about "the dead bodies" He pretends to speak for God and has done so much abuse. He said that "God told him to leave church discipline (for his abuse) and start a new church."

You spent a lot of time dealing with Driscoll. He was not the issue and I am not interested in his past. Whoever put this "thing" on should be rebuked. This was ridiculous. I don't frequent strip clubs. Much less male ones. This is inexcusable. What possible conversation could one have? Explain to me how God's spirit could have been there. Those people are seeking God. I am happy that they refuse to be sheep led to slaughter. Boo loudly and leave. You should have emphasized the organizers of this debacle, Driscoll only spoke the obvious. PS. Get any money spent back for misrepresentation. Was God a No Show? What do you think?

idk either of them, pretty sure they are all liberal, so i hate to defend one over the other. that said, here's why I don't think driscoll was wrong (this time) and lindell is an open hypocrite: 1. driscoll publicly called out a public display of sin and disgusting behavior (among Christians, at a supposed Christian conference) -- but he was focused on the very public event that involved everyone he was speaking to. there was no private matter to take to a brother, this was a public display of sin among brothers, so a public response among brothers is entirely appropriate. it shouldn't matter if he talked to lindell before or not. don't get me wrong, driscoll could have talked to him before and could have said something so lindell wasn't so floored by it -- but he absolutely shouldn't have kept silent about it publicly either and that doesn't fit Matt 18 because the circumstances are public "Christiian" sin. 2. lindell publicly called out driscoll -- not the display of sin, the event, whatever -- but the man himself specifically, and lindell was clumsily slinging around Matt 18 which I don't see how it applies to a public matter, unless perhaps you're attacking the man over a private offense (being the one that, i assume organized this display of disgusting behavior, felt personally attacked so he personally attacked in public without doing the very Matt 18 process he himself was preaching in the public attack against a brother. i'm not really sure lindell's ever read the part about how God's word is a TWO edged sword.

Mark Driscoll is an opportunist. He inserts himself wherever he can to get the attention he craves. Here's another event where he tried to make himself relevant. And it worked. He trended on Twitter/X, and videos are being made about this stunt of his. This man, this unqualified "pastor", just has to be reminded to be humbled, step down, and sit quietly under the authority of a sound eldership.

Driscoll and the pastor of that church are both in the wrong, for they are hypocrites. They both new what they were doing and what was going on. The conference was a (public) show, of shame to the church the body of Christ, but the pastor took the scriptures out of context to justify his hypocritical motives and actions of the horrific show that he, with full knowledge did (publicly) as an entertainment for the ones who are not walking according to truth. Let us not forget that the Lord Jesus himself, (publicly) rebuked the scribes and pharisees as being hypocrites , Jesus also rebuked Peter in the (presence) of the rest of the disciples, calling him satan for his selfish, motives to come to pass and not God's motives. Remember that paul also had (publicly) rebuked Peter to his face for his hypocritical motives, because he would eat with the gentle believers, but not when the Jewish believers came around. Our Lord Jesus has said that whatever is hidden in the darkness will come to light. The devils tricks in these last day's is to entertain the goats, and to starve the sheep. This (prophecy) is unfolding before our very eyes, as it is written that in the last days many will fall away from the faith, our faith is in God's word. And we are not to go outside of God's inspired written word for our knowledge of him, who is blessed for ever. Amen, but i believe the promise that Jesus give of the confession of faith of his true followers, and that the gates of hell will not prevail it. For the Lord knows those who are his, and there are many who are giving heed to seducing Spirits and doctrines of demons. Know we're in scripture does it mention of a jezebel Spirit, Driscoll is either deceived, or lieing, we are commanded to test the spirits with discernment by the truth of God's word, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Love you all.
