Mark Farner is Grand Funk Railroad. His vocals, his guitar work and the music. Don and Mel black balled Mark and today their version of GFR is nothing more than a "Copy Band" with the name. I bought "On Time" when I was in High School and have been a fan since. I own their entire catalog either on album or 8 track (which I still have). GFR was a "Kick Ass" soulful rock trio back in the day. Their concert were sell outs and phenomenal. ( If you can find their double set live album pick it up. It will make you a believer. You'll thank me for it.)

Mark, Mel & Don WERE Grand Funk Railroad.... They WERE a Group Man..!! Mark is Mark and he is incredible, but without each other, they are not GFR. Mel & Don try to pretend and perform without Mark (Grand Fraud Railroad) but that doesn't mean Mark IS GFR...!! Mark solo is NOT GFR, and Mark knows that very well... All the GFR fans want, and surely deserve, a reunion of GFR. I believe that Mark has forgiven Mel & Don and himself, but perhaps Mel & Don still have not forgiven Mark or themselves. Together they made incredible Rock-n-Roll.

Farner got to be one of the best blues rock artists out there, vocals are piercing, bluesy and on point, songs are damn good and catchy, this is the kind of rock n' roll party I'd be in. And that lookwise, Farner could easily be one of those lead actors of action movies in the '80s with that mullet. '80s Mel Gibson-esque action movies. 😂 Oh, one more, that bass player really killed it, backboning the groove really well. Damn good.

I don't know if you'll see this. In 1969, Grand Funk came to Cleveland, Ohio warming up for Led Zeppelin. I love Led Zeppelin, but GFR gave them a run for the money. In other words, GFR was amazing amazing and energetic! I was so lucky to see both bands together when I was 18 years old!

IT WAS PACKED. I STILL THINK THE ORIGINZL 3 ARE STILL THE BEST GFR Mark was a greaf frontman, I saw him with his long hair down to his sphincter . What terry night did to those fine srtists makes me sick, and there was a lot of it going around, the eagles, I can’t remember all of them, QUEEN they come to me as I go a,long, terry night had their gear possessed the night of a gig, it was all the album sales, oh, Bee Gees, memories wow, it’s so different now, a band noe can get a 49 track hi fi dugutzl mixer with matching … I forgot, anyway original 3 were the best, yeah I just heard mark playing his Dunlop cry baby, which is all I. Had, in the 90s I started messing with modelers, mainly fir the fx, yo day I’ve got a line 6 helix a pair of line 6 DT 50 guitar amps and in the center a Bugera V 55 which is kind of like a Fender delux reverb clone. So I use a wet dry wer rig, most guys who . Oh yeah, on of my favorite guitar players DON FELDER of the eagles, they went through several artists, but like mark farner, the eagles would not have had their great sound with out Don, I kinda went through yhe same thung, politics, can destroy a friendship and because Don wasn’t a wacked out liberal, it blew the group up in their ofime of 1977, firtumztky they czmd tigdthdf again but everybody thstd madden it sukk tell yiu shfdn that super young passion gets crowded over bt family marriage, THET never seen ru get that ba m

Yes I agree Mark Farner had an incredible gift, a smooth tenor voice, that because I tried to sing most of their songs, I was bumping up on my range, it’s funny this is 88, I don’t see any big pedal board, from the 60s I used a tube amp of some type I had a 64 fender black face dusk showman with JBL D130s. The damn things about fender amps of the 50s, 60s, and 70s was no master volume or volume attenuator, so to get any sustain
