The boxes are taller than the disks so the distance traveled is shorter makng it "easier" but I guess theres a good reason why they didnt use disks

To be fair, Ronnie kept lifting super heavy even until he was only a week or so out from competition which caused a lot of injuries, and then even as he had injuries and surgeries he continued to lift. The difference is that Ronnie was a bit of a moron, while Felix I feel certain must be taking care of his body properly. A good alternative comparison is Dexter Jackson

He was taking to/buying something from someone at one of the stalls, he had some other guy with him too, so I didn’t want to stick my nose in and say hello, he probably wouldn’t have minded but still. He’s not that tall, around my height (6feet), but he’s WIDE! Like 3/4 of me in the chest and stomach area!

Amazing! Being 55 years old Mr Felix lifts more than 15 years ago, when I saw him first time personally, that was Arnold Classic qualification in Kiev on December 29, 2006y. Mark Felix is truly hero. The level to witch everybody need to strive!

In 2014 at Ontario's Strongest Man my friend Luke Skaarup pulled 1150 pounds in the silver dollar lift. That's 521.6 kg! Video is on KZbin. He wasn't 55 y/o though. Felix has some incredible longevity!

God half the people in the comments are dumb. This is the silver dollar deadlift. It’s not being compared to Eddies 500 or Thor’s 501. There are lots of different types of deadlifts in strongman and multiple records. To name a few we have the standard deadlift, the axle deadlift, the elephant bar deadlift, the hummer tyre deadlift, the 18 inch deadlift, the silver dollar deadlift... Imagine being completely ignorant about a subject then getting so worked up because you don’t understand what you’re seeing 🙄
