What I dislike about the thick handles is that if you don't have long fingers you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage, and you have to be significantly stronger than a guy with long fingers doing the same weight. Basically you have to either cup the entire thing or pinch grip it. They are basically just made for people with big hands.
@cimjohansson48783 ай бұрын
and a shorter person can jump just as hard from the ground as a tall person but they still will not dunk the basketball and will not make it to the NBA. being better at something because of how you were born is normal in every performance or sport.
@Nikoncha3 ай бұрын
@@cimjohansson4878 Of course, but they could just make the handles thinner and increase the weight. Especially when the majority of the user base is going to be people of average height/hand size. These types of grip exercises always just seemed like a circle jerk for people with big hands. All else equal a bigger hand is better for most grip anyways, why make the advantage even bigger. Grip is a niche sport compared to basketball, so it's not a fair comparison imo. They managed to make the Capains of Crush grippers usable for most people, how come some of the dumbbell handles needs to be 50cm thick. Just make them heavier. Suddenly more people would be at a more equal playing field, and it would be much less of an ego trip for all the guys with big hands. This is just like Brian Shaw's grip ladder, where he consistently challenges smaller strongmen, and for the thickest blocks he is one of the only ones with big enough hands to grip them properly. "Wow his grip is so strong, surely it's not highly based on how it's nearly impossible for most other people to even get a proper grip". Hand size is already an advantage, but let's make it even bigger. I have a 180kg bench press sub 100kg (lifetime natural) Should I go around and challenge Middle Schoolers to a bench press competition, or somebody my own age?

It is not the weight that is the problem, but the circumference of the handle on that dumbbell. If one has above average, sized palm with long fingers, it is doable. While folks have different palm\finger combinations and this is irrespective of height. Still on an average, have noticed taller folks have longer fingers, which helps. This is the case with Thor's dad, who is tall and has big palm\fingers. Thanks for the entertaining video 😊
