Favorite place to sit at shows. So close you can almost see the drummer make decisions before you hear them.

funny. I don't really notice him doing anything particularly unusual tho. Although keeping those bouncing eighths going is really hard for me. But you get some full foot at 12:13

love it. are you a drummer by any chance? Curious about his bass drum. It sounds pretty dead, not like his high jazz tuning for toms. But I don't see any muffling.
@wolfereeno2 жыл бұрын
Hah - this was years ago so I kind of forget. But yes, I'm a drummer. I didn't see any muffling outside. I recall it was a 16" BD. I have one that with a coated PS3 has just the right ring/deadness. But hey, I'm no Mark G!

The bass drum has two internal mufflers (factory-installed) on each side. They are called Pratt Mufflers and are adjustable felt strips that can be engaged and tightened up to your personal preference. You can custom order a bass drum from Gretsch with mufflers on either or both sides.
@wolfereeno2 жыл бұрын
@@juancarlosbrenes4741 Could be. But I have two gretsch bds and rarely use the internal muffling as they just dampen too much. My gretsch are rbs and the hardware probably isn't as reliable as his brand new drums though. But I'm happy with the PS3 sometimes I add a small hand towel down by the pedal.
