Former Penn State NCAA champion, Mark Hall left his shoes on the mat after falling in the consolation quarters at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in State College, Pa. In wrestling, leaving your shoes on the mat signifies retirement from the sport.

@gianpolignano2632 he left right after graduating! And he's an official on staff assistant coach at UPenn. For him to become an official on staff Assistant coach at PSU, either Casey, Cody, or Varner would need to step down/be fired!

@gianpolignano2632 also while yes he was great, he's far from an icon at PSU. He was 1 of many great champions. He was never the face of the program like Taylor, Nickal, or Brooks.
