How good is this guy at keeping secrets you ask? He is in Batman Arkham Knight as the Joker and had to swear that he wouldn't tell anyone he was even involved. Fans waiting for the game had no idea he would even be in it. No one mentioned his name and he was never interviewed. He plays a pretty major part too. Probably more lines than both previous games combined. Mark Hamill is one sly dude :D

This secrecy has me baffled. I honestly don't know what they're planning with Luke's character in Ep. 7. I can't even guess or speculate. Not being able to show his face in trailers or posters pretty much means that it's something big. I don't think Luke is a villain - that in itself would be a massive gamble. Not sure if the fans would like that idea. I think Luke's good... I just don't get why there is secrecy around showing his face in the movie. I wonder if he's disfigured in some way. Maybe he and Kylo Ren have already faced each other before...

+FocusReborn It is yet very simple : Luke is the main character of episodes 4/5/6, the one every man/kid wants to identify to. Other characters are just supporting roles... So I think they keep an absolute secret about him, precisely because such a secret is a fantastic teaser. You know, this is just marketing. It is solely intended to create a shortage. Then Disney expects everybody to be hungry, and go see the film, just in order to have THE anwser to THE terrible question: "What the hell happened to Luke?" :)

This video is kind of a spoiler in itself; Motion Capture dots on Hamill's face suggest a CGI character to some degree. He did mention Obi Wan in this video while wearing the dots... Knowing how Obi Wan appeared in Part V and VI.

He was actually doing an interview about the game, and people are clipping out the 3 minutes that vaguely mentioned Star Wars. The game is called Star Citizen, and is an interesting project. There is no publisher, it's a crowdfunded indie... but it's also the most successful crowdfunding project in history. Not just games, any crowdfunding... they are closing fast on $99Million in funding, and will probably hit 100mil in a few days. He's doing motion capture, which is a technology where you put dots on your face and body and then computers can track all your movements and facial expressions and use them to create CGI characters that are more life-like. It's what they used for Avatar and what Andy Serkis used when he played Gollum in Lord of the Rings, and now it's being used to make video games.

I heard that Solo hasn't seen Luke in 30 years. Perhaps he attempted to train the Knights of Ren to tap into the darkside at moments, like Windu could, and it didn't go too well. I think the whole movie and everything Kylo does is to provoke Luke into coming out of hiding. But perhaps Luke is hiding to keep Rey safe because, emotions the future is, and maybe she along with Finn are his trump card to restart the order.

Luke Skywalker has become a different type of force user - neither Jedi nor Sith, but both. It is so obvious for many reasons. Why else would they hide his appearance. Prolonged use of the Dark Side force disfigures humans, it's the only explanation as to why they're hiding his appearance. I think he will be the Emperor Palapatine of Ep7. The puppet master that no one sees until the end. Kylo Ren and Snoke are his followers and they wish to bring a new order to the galaxy where neither Jedi nor Sith are in control.
