awesome thank you so much for organizing this and recapping, I wish every surfer had a recap vid like this. The shot at 0:59 where you are on the top of the wave would be the most amazing huge still photo, it's a metaphor for life, when the waves come at you at their largest, ride it on the top, jeez, like Bruce Lee said, "be like water, my friend..."

I watches the whole event and I was 100% sure that Mark won the Eddie, especially after returning to the water on the 2nd round to take another amazing wave. Even the people at the beach were screaming for him during the 2nd round. Hopefully some justice on the next Eddie event.

No disrespect to Luke but Mark won this and if he had caught that wave that he got hung up on he probably would have sealed it. He put himself in every critical spot, some hard bottom turns and he surfed the thin line on practically every wave he took. Luke hit it hard as well but Mark has really put his time in on the North Shore as hard if not harder than anyone and he deserved this being his 4the Eddie. Judges could have awarded Luke second and he would have been just as stoked and he takes the next one assuming he surfs the same way. Just my 0.2¢. 🤙🤙

@@markshepardson4450 HI Mark, I went back and watched Luke's waves and I gotta say Luke's a charger and I do see where your coming from. Please you and Luke accept my apology for my initial Disrespectful comment. Luke is definitely an inspiration too all that if you want it bad enough and focus then you can do it. I gotta admit I'm kinda biased as I've watched Mark progress from back in the day when Shawn Briley and others kept pushing him at Pipe outside of his comfort zone. I've been surfing for 57 years, owned a surfshop in Hawaii. Way before that I worked at George Downings Waikiki Beach shack when Keoni was born. I've spent years surfing in Mexico, and some time in Indo on numerous islands, also Cali, Virgin Islands and currently retired to Aguada Puerto Rico where I have "Tablerock" right out my backdoor ( you won't see much online Boyz keep it on the down low ) and another 6 uncrowded breaks within a mile of my home.
