Thanks for showing us inside the ropes, and all the surrounding aloha. Everyone knew Healy was going to charge um. You have the right spirit, and approach. Always accept the challenge! I've had a couple ruptured ear drums. From bailing out on big jumps windsurfing, and landing on the side of my head. Fortunately, I never had a big bomb explode on me afterwards like you. That must have really sucked. I hated wearing helmets, but that helped from ever getting a broken ear drum again. Charge on, Mark!!!

This year was just not the year for you but, you were still sending it over the ledge You will be back again in the water soon giving us amazing big wave surfing. YES, the Eddie contest is amazing. it's my favorite contest. The best parts of this contest are: the Aikau Family, the commrodery of all the surfers and how much is shared behind the sense for the viewers all over the world to make them feel like they are part of the Eddie & celebrating Eddie's legacy. Eddie would be proud of you Mark for your dedication to big wave surfing & how you always surf hard in these events, he is also proud of all the surfers & especially, proud of his siblings for rising up out of the darkness of losing Eddie to create this amazing event & keeping his name & legacy ALIVE. Beautiful what the Aikau siblings have done to keep this surfing contest going! 💙🏄‍♂ Have all the surfers in this event ever thought about thanking the Police, Fire/EMT, Life guards by having some type of get together (free) talk about this event at the Turtle bay hotel or another place that supports the surfers gathering for free?? Maybe do a slide show/film breaking down the waves & event? Think that would be a wonderful way to connect with all of these hardworkers that dont get the praise at the Eddie. Just a thought 🤔 The Turtle bay does something like this during the pipe master. The Turtle bay will host a few surfers on stage & they are interviewed by someone. Kelly & Rob Machado have a vd of this same with Kai Lenny etc. This would be a nice way to thank the hard working police/fire/emt,life guards and get to know them too. PS not sure if this vd will help you. Be very careful what ever you use during your ear healing including rx since you dont want to damage your hearing long term. ch Dr Berg vd titled: The Best Ear Pain Remedy. If you can find a good Functional or Alternative doctor (these are licensed docs that use natural remedies first vs rx or a very good naturopath to heal you heal your ear so that you dont get a infection and help you know to drain your ear to heal it faster. Dr Berg also has a vd on eating red meat heals the body faster and a vd on how anti-biotics can cause harm to your body.
