Mark Knopfler’s, first solo tour to support the release of the ‘Golden Heart’ album comprised 84 concerts from 66 City’s and commenced on Wednesday 24, April 1996 in Ireland. This video (DVD) from the great RCJS collection is from the FINAL concert of the tour in Antibes, France. It was filmed from the right/centre of the stage and behind the standing sections that were right in the front of the stage. Good, Audio & picture quality from this VHS sourced production. Although the taper was a fair way back from the stage, the use of a zoom lens brought some good close-ups of Mark and the 96-ers. There was plenty, of energy tonight with excellent renditions of all songs. The Je suis désolé/Calling Elvis section was brilliant, with Sultans outro also very lively. We only see the early songs and final parts of the concert, and Going home is also cut short.
