I struggled with heroin/opiate addiction for 12 years, until I got clean 5 years ago. I’ve lost over 25 friends over the years due to overdose, and I had really messed up codependent drug relationships with several of them. Some of them I helped save from overdoses, and some of them did the same for me. I still think about them, when I’m lying in bed at night, and my mind constantly goes over what I could have done to save them. Bless Mark Lanegan. These stories give me so much clarity and so much serenity. Some people who are in recovery can’t listen to “war stories” like these, but they’re therapeutic for me.

Mark was such a talented singer and writer. One can sense so much guilt inside of him. Kurt had severe addiction issues, complex trauma and depression. It was hard for him to deal with this world. He got clean for good in 2005 or 2006. But sadly did recently passed. What he meant here is heroin makes you feel the need to not drink and most trade alcoholism for heroin addiction. I did. But I’m clean now as well. It’s just what it does. He’s not saying heroin saved him from certain death, listen further into his book. You’ll see he never meant that. And that was only his thoughts at the time he was using it.

@ohwellwhateverr 3 ай бұрын
Are you serious? Tom Grant is a truth-seeker, not a profit spinner. He’s bankrupted himself trying to get to the bottom of this case. The proceeds of Soaked in Bleach went into his efforts to reopen the investigation. And Tom Grant WAS close to the situation. He was there in those crucial moments of the search for Kurt. He saw how those around Kurt were behaving. You’re forgetting that Rosemary Carroll (Nirvana’s manager) and Gary Cobain (Kurt’s uncle) and Courtney’s father and Kurt’s former nanny (I forget her name but she was interviewed in the Kurt & Courtney documentary by Nick Broomfield) ALL suspect that Kurt was murdered. Please look into this more before badmouthing the people who are just asking for a proper investigation based on evidence and objectivity over lies and assumptions.

Is it really believable that Lanegan would stand outside the home of a friend (a multi-millionaire) who had OD'd, for almost two hours, just yelling and "urging" him on?? As opposed to breaking a window (that may have cost a couple hundred dollars to replace) and immediately getting inside to provide actual hands-on support? The story sounds either completely false or highly, highly exaggerated.

The pain and guilt of life is enough to want to live without it all together. I will NEVER believe Kurt did anything to physically hurt himself but this is not the same. This is a human being learning the guilt and processing it properly. Kurt had been healed of his stomach illness by the time of In Utero's touring and the constant fighting over his "will" knowing he never planned to write one until a certain woman pushed him so hard as she would do anything for a taste of what he was naturally. Mark's pain is very real and it is a beautiful sadness I can't explain but he was lucky to have a friend care so much I wish everyone all that same love.

His interviews and footage from summer 93 on and after baby was back home with Kurt he was always smiling. I know this does not prove anything but almost all the ppl I've lost to self death, none was happy like that. All was very down all the time. I'm not saying it was a given but I knew something was really off and tried to reach out. But ppl that are down don't answer fone, door, or welfare checks by cops. So what are we to do? Idk why Kurt went back to seattle. Wish he went to Stipes and made music. But he'd never leave Frances behind. Then Kristin dies after being sober, then Det Terry who was finding where tge dope that killed them came from, then Eldon, Then Det Cameron is found to be a dirty cop. So many things to throw this off.

We do have a guy who said he was offered 50k to kill and he passed 2 polygraph tests, same tests that are given to ALL applicants to be in a 3 letter job or the like. We have ppls words that say he wasn't suicidal like Rosemary Carroll their entertainment attorney who was mattie to a guy who wrote a very detailed book about heroin addiction, Jim Carroll. As soon as she knew Tom was recording she snapped shut quicker than a nuns legs. Alot of the bands that was on last tour, meat puppets, Melvins etc said kurt looked heathy and well. We will never know until we get a time machine. But in my life experience in dealing with buddies from the service who ended their lives, friends, family, etc he sure didn't seem like he was that depressed or down. Especially when holding baby. He was ecstatic. But urr opinion is urr opinion. Like buttholes, we all have 1 and most ppl think theirs don't stink. I was 10 and got into my house in 10 seconds by breaking a window. This guy stood outside a door knocking and yelling for 2 hours? He watched his good friend slowly crawl to the door for at least an hour? None of this has been mentioned on any level for 25 years? A PI has been talking about this death to anyone that will listen for 30 years, and never once did he mention Mark being there with him to search the house because he's a "nice guy"? I don't buy it. Mark, the druggy, confused another day with one of the days leading up to Kurts body being found. Then he had to write a book, couldn't remember alot from those days, remembered SOME of 2 different incidents, and filled in the blanks with his imagination. We all do it. Even myself. Sometimes to the point that we believe what our imagination has filled in, just because it "feels right" or it's because it's what we think we could have done.

You got your dates wrong. Kurt left Exodus rehab on March 31 after checking in on the 30th. He was already back in Seattle by the 1st, cuz he bought shotgun shells with Dylan on the 2nd. I think Kurt probably tried to call Mark on the 3rd, then Mark/Tom/Dylan went to the house on the 5th a few hours after Kurt killed himself. Kurt most likely killed himself super early in the morning on the 5th, sometime between 12am-5am. They went to the house in late morning or early afternoon a few hours later. Mark probably missed a day between while also confusing the day Kurt left rehab with the day he got the call.

U sir are COMPLETELY UNINFORMED. Do some mild research and u will find Kurt Cobain’s flight back from LA to Seattle didnt land until after midnight on the 2nd of April 1994. Delta flight 788 in which Duff Mckagen from GnR was on. Kurt left exodus on Friday April 1st after jumping over the wall. Secondly, the gun was purchased by Dylan and Kurt on March 30, 1994. A simple google search and u can see a pic of the actual receipt from Stan Baker’s gun shop. Kurt flew to La later in evening to go to Exodus. Dylan did NOT see Kurt when he came back from Exodus. AT ALL. He was not with him on the 2nd buying shotgun shells. Kurt was picked up by a Seattle cab alone very early in the morning on the 2nd and was looking for stores open to buy shotgun shells. There weren’t any open n so the driver dropped him off at the crest trailer park on aurora, which is where one of his dealers lived. Kurt later in the day bought the shells at a gun store on 145th and Lake City way called Seattle Guns. The receipt of which would be found at his feet in the paper bag containing the box of shotgun shells. He also had a piece of paper in his front pocket which said Seattle Guns 145th & Lake City. U are out of ur element here. U have no idea who I am. Let’s just say I’m very close to the Nirvana story. N I actually talked to Dylan Carlson yesterday. He’s a friend and one of the sweetest guys in the world. Dylan would have never even gone to help purchase the gun for Kurt on the 30th, had he known that Rome was an actual suicide attempt and not an accidental overdose, but Courtney didn’t even let his close friends know that Rome was indeed an intentional suicide attempt with a note written by Kurt. If u wanna find out about me and my fandom, my insta is @ferilld0. Get on the level homie and learn some facts, instead of spouting off bullshit.

Also- Tom and dylan were there on the 5th, but it was the evening of the 5th n very briefly. Not in the pre-dawn hours after midnight. Kurt was seen at Linda’s tavern on Monday night the 4th. He would have been returning to the house around midnight maybe after which then obviously becomes the 5th. The note was written in the house. The last 4 lines were written on the floor of the greenhouse which is why it looks different. Kurt wasn’t up there in the greenhouse with a light on writing out his note. His bed had been layed in, mtv was on, and REM ‘automatic for the people’ had been playing in his cd player. He was in the house that night. If Tom and Dylan or anybody would have come to the house that night they would have found him up in the house. Kurt probably killed himself in the very early morning of the 5th. It was probably when the sun was coming up or shortly after. Dylan and TG didn’t come back to the house until later that evening on the 5th when he was already dead.Tom and Dylan were not really staking out the house at 171 lake wash. Blvd. They were staking out Caitlin Moore’s apartment building on 11th & Denny way in Capitol hill. She was his main dealer at this time and who he was seen with at the Cactus restaurant on Easter Sunday April 3rd. Her apartment building can be seen in ‘soaked in bleach’ in the short video clips in the beginning of the movie. They were there waiting for Kurt to show up on the evenings of the 4,5, & 6th as seen in the time stamp of the video. Her address was listed on Kurt’s missing persons report.

He's being very slyly honest when he says - after calling himself an enabler - "I'm actually something much worse..." The dark truths and twisted lies woven in this one passage retold here in this video; the odd anecdote about Kurt "twisting his ankle," Rosemary Carroll being "extremely smart and no nonsense," it's all so much deeper and darker than - sadly - the majority of people who love and care for Kurt Cobain will ever realize. @@madhatter8508 @AnodyneHipsterInfluencer I’m from the East Coast & I’m only a little younger than these guys. I suppose I don’t have any special “right to know” or right to ask about these matters. But, on the way to go work on Alaskan catching & processing boats in the 1990s, I caught some special-meaning dear to me-shows at the Off Ramp, and I enjoyed time at the OK Hotel: it’s red painted walls gave it a different sort of atmosphere inside. Pioneer Square: art galleries in the daytime & good music at night-time. Eileen’s on Broadway was undeniably “my local,” it had changed from being Ernie Steele’s not long before my arrival. I feel like I could’ve easily been in the same room with these guys a few times and not known it. It’s just because I’ve thought about these people a lot since their passing, and I read their words in print pretty often when they were around. So, OP if you’d make a “throwaway” account to explain the ankle, I’ll read that and just shut up about it after knowing. Not knowing the truth, my brain has been kinda stuck on this for a while, like a compulsive itch or a skipping-loop on a vinyl record.

The way they responded (or didn't respond) likely resulted in anoxic brain injury

Watching him for 2 hrs on floor), not getting him medical attention. It wasn't bc press, it was bc he was the dealer and didn't want to get in trouble. His concern was that he may no longer be able to profit off Kurt's suffering

That doesn't make sense either, a dealer would want to keep his cash cow alive, Cobain was an endless flow of money. He is probably embellishing, or making it all up.

Isn't it weird that there is so much mystery and hysteria about one of the most iconic people to ever be... yet if someone else less famous died in this manner the investigation wouldve been more defined? 🤔

He was not with Tom Grant and Dylan at the house, or either he's lying or his memory is messed up with dreams. He was with them though for a couple of hours on the car only because he knew where Kurt might hang out. That's on Tom's website.

And yet, he stated in a 1994 Rolling Stone article that Kurt didn’t call him or ANYBODY for that matter in the days before his death. Which story is true, Mark? Something about Courtney “saving your life” help you change your printed story 20 years later? Jussayin’.
