Just to clarify as some people have already said you are only required to have a TV licence by Law if you watch live TV on any channel as its been broadcast including BBC iplayer. If you watch TV on demand for example on Netflix, Amazon or any other streaming service that you basically go through a library of programs to watch and gives you the ability to choose a time to play a program at your convenience then you do not require a TV licence by Law. Also you are not legally required by Law to respond to any letters from TV licencing, it is your choice to reply out of courtesy. If anyone from TV licencing pays you a visit at your door then you are not obligated to speak to them or answer their questions, it is your choice. You can simply say No thank you I'm not interested and shut the door, or not answer at all.
@berryj.greene70909 ай бұрын
All no doubt true. It becomes a question of whether you want a BBC. No adverts and some integrity to what it does. I do as degeneration is so much easier than re-generation. It's cheap publicity to just keep pushing at the barriers of decency like say Piers Morgan has done - along with much more of our media. In fact when news is scarce they feed off themselves. At the moment its photo manipulation by HRH Princess of Wales. Photos have been "manipulated" since its invention. What is posing and one's best side otherwise all about. We haven't got to the smoke & mirrors yet. And who has done more to alter photos than the very media now kicking up all the fuss. They have spoiled Cate's hobby as she convalesces, in such a spiteful and opportunistic way to behave.
@RichardHodgson-wb9lk9 ай бұрын
I can see how the wording on their letters actually scares people there’ll be some kind of legal prosecution, those letters can be horrible. But, you’re absolutely correct. More people should take note.
@JASON-rq5gl9 ай бұрын
@@RichardHodgson-wb9lk Absolutely, the way TV licencing use wording in their letters is clearly to cause fear and stress to the person receiving them. It's totally unacceptable that the BBC are allowed to continually send threatening letters out to the same address every month with the intention of getting the addresse to pay out of fear for something they don't want or don't need.
@nannystatenonsense74199 ай бұрын
Its also illegal to do what the TV Licensing do, threatening court action like they constantly do. But because the BBC is the mouth piece of the Government they are allowed to get away with unlawful conduct like this. Its illegal to send threats of court action in this manner unless there is actual intent to do so. TV Licensing do it as a matter of course, and constantly, with their default letters which begin "we believe you may be watching" (e.t.c), then cycle through automatically to "we will prosecute", and finally "we are sending someone round and will prosecute". Then it begins all again from the start. There is absolutely NO REASON why this State enforced channel is a legal requirement, other than without forcing everyone to pay for it the Government know they would become irrelevant and no one would be listening to their constant lies, brainwashing and social conditioning agendas. The Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation could be an encrypted pay to view service just like every other one of its "competitors" is. But its for the reasons above that's why it isnt. I DONT WANT THE CRAPPY BBC! Nor will I pay for it either. I had TV license once.. just the once, for one year. Dont want it. Not paying. Never will. @jason I'm fairly sure they closed the loop hole you talked about, about not watching live tv. Fairly sure they made it illegal to watch even via stream some time ago. If all you do is watch on demand services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, or catch-up services like ITV or C4 (but not BBC) then you don't have to pay the licence. This is becoming an issue for the BBC as more and more people are cancelling their licences and going forward that's going to increase as even more people become less inclined to cough up almost £160 a year for a licence, the cost of which is about to increase to almost £170 from 1st April, ironically April Fool's Day.

Apparently, by default, speaking out against the BBC woke machine ruining MOTD is racist and sexist. (see my last sentence though which sums this current state of nonsense up though). at least he knew what he was actually talking about though? People respected his opinion having actually PLAYED at the highest level and IN THE VERSION OF THE GAME he was talking about. I agree with you to some degree, he wasnt the most interest pundit, but it should ALWAYS be the most qualified, best person for the job that gets the seat. Race and gender should be completely irrelevant in this decision (but now they are the primary focus to the detriment of the programme). Give me Gabbi Logan over the god damn awful Alex Scott et al. (cant even remember the names of the rest because I've never heard of them before). Wrighty, Rio, Micah, Thierry over Owen. BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB! Dont care what colour or gender they are, so long as they're the best at the job. Ditch the woke agenda Lineker, , Dublin (this guy actually makes Homes under the Hammer even more boring!), Jenas (he's like a social conditioning machine on steroids with his Government scripted bollocks) and the all rest of the current priority hosts/pundits. As someone living in the USA, not having a public broadcaster to provide news services has been the biggest social disaster, the effects of which can be seen in how politically illiterate the populace is. Live in the US also and the news media here is horrendously bad. Main evening news on the networks like NBC, CBS etc all just headline reporting - maybe 15 to 20 seconds on most items with no depth to any of the stories and then you have the biased content from the cable news companies like FOX/CNN. The news on BBC America on a different level. If it's gone downhill it's still way ahead of the domestic US offerings. Then you go to the website and you see the range of content there, plus all they put out on radio. You appreciate it when you see the alternatives.

My teacher in 1992 would ask me to write an essay on the inside of a ping pong ball, as a punishment. That and the sex life of corn flake. Times have changed. Mark was never funny or witty in my book

He should have never been a pundit in the first place, he was atrocious.

Never watched MOT in over 10 years, never watched it to see what Gary Linaker has to say, only the goals. Can now watch the goals on KZbin straight after the game

Precisely mate, if that long! They are on here quicker some times. Giving up a Saturday evening for MOTD is bonkers.

There's a full hour of Mark Lawrenson going "everything's changed, hasn't it?" It reminds me of that TV show, Grumpy Old Men.

I am guilty of repeating the same comment: I remember a sketch by Jeremy Clarkson years ago in which he drove the world's smallest car around the corridors of the BBC at White City. He went into one committee room full of persons of Diversity and Inclusion eg someone of indeterminate sexual preference, a Sikh, a woman wearing a long-tailed beanie hat and others - all spouting much ado about nothing. I laughed myself to near-incontinence, little realising how much he foresaw the direction the corporation was taking.

Even at the time I thought Clarkson may have got in trouble with the BBC for that sketch. Although in some ways he did as it's clear many at the BBC behind the scenes got their knives out for Clarkson not long after. Everything he said or did was picked apart for what felt like ages and I bet they couldn't believe their luck after he hit that guy. He gave them the win they had been waiting for because Top Gear was never getting axed due to how well it was doing at the time.

S- how much of the item do you think had been set up in advance? JC in the car? Check. Empty filmable corridors? Check. Room full of laughable "woke" stereotypes. Check. Gullible viewers. No need to set them up, they set themselves up.

He was soo annoying at the end. He came across as if he didn’t like football or didn’t want to be at the match he was commentating on. Hansen left a couple years too late but at least he did it. Lawrenson would never have left. Hanging around like a bad smell

I try so hard not to watch the BBC these days. I've got it down to . . . sometimes MOTD after a Villa win . . . maybe the weather, if they're lucky. Their coverage and lies about Oct 7 did it for me.

That's ever so slightly off of the money. He's boring, and a crap pundit. He's cheesed off and trying to deflect blame from his own shortcomings. A really bad case of sour grapes. He'll blame his accent next. Danny Murphy's white, Alan shearer is white, Gary lineker is white. So are most of the commentary team. Lawrensen is being pathetic.

Mark was painful to listen to. He was transparently venting his own personal frustrations and discontent, like a typically boring old fart. Should probably have had therapy.
