"Oh yeah, and you can do this"... "Oh, yeah, you can do this too, just to add some flavor"... "And you can do this too, just to add your own individuality"... "Consider it a sentence, where you can do this."... And that, my friends, is where masters go, thinking we can follow it, at all. Thank you, Mark, for 1) sharing this, and 2) thinking we have any chance at all of keeping up. You're awesome, sir.

I'm glad I clicked on the link, real nice ideas and playing. Lately I've been researching and thinking about getting the voicelive play 3 Extreme, I do have the earlier white unit. I'm still on the fence because I was hoping maybe they'd be coming out with a newer version voicelive soon and reading some negative reviews of it being not reliable. I emailed TC electronic and waiting for them to get back to me in the next couple of days for some questions on it.

How does one become so well versed in music theory/knowledge that he/she can name each scale/mode and each degree of it in respect to chords.... i need to know.
@Calymos5 жыл бұрын
Practice. Music theory is like math, you just gotta do it. musictheory.net and teoria.org are great places to start, from there it's best to take songs you love and slowly work on transcribing them to figure out what they're doing and why you like it.
@rafetizer5 жыл бұрын
The easiest way is to go to school for it, or take lessons from a qualified instructor. And also stay motivated. (the hard part)

Calymos Teoria.org is not working, or is it misspelled?
5 жыл бұрын
It is doable. I learned music theory from the "World Book Encyclopedia" ... In 1968 I just had to know and looked up music in the book... The info is everywhere, and really... it's not that hard to grasp once you start practicing it. I know you could do it.. I trust you.

04:00 "...a dorian scale but with the force in there" - Master Lettieri
He means stacked fourth intervals aka 'stacked fourths', or just 'fourths'. E.g. C-F-Bb is three fourth intervals "stacked". Another example: E-A-D It's used a lot in jazz-inspired music.
@jazz75815 жыл бұрын
@@Kazshmir so basically sus4 chords.
@Kazshmir5 жыл бұрын
@@jazz7581 A sus4 chord (as I've been taught at least, YMMV) refers to root, perfect fourth, and perfect fifth. A stacked fourth is root, perfect fourth, and minor seventh. So in my mind there's a discrepancy, and you should therefore distinguish between sus4 and stacked fourths.
@jazz75815 жыл бұрын
@@Kazshmir I think an inversion of the sus4 chord is a quartal with stacked 4ths no?
@Kazshmir5 жыл бұрын
@@jazz7581 in that case I (again this is probably more about style/preference - and also context) would not call that a sus4 if it doesn't contain a major second interval. It's that major second interval from perfect fourth to perfect fifth that makes it a suspended chord. It seems you have a pretty good grasp of the theory though, so I'm wondering why you asked the question in the first place.
