I love all the times I was able to see you guys in concert! Meeting and talking to Vestal a couple of times were one of the highlights of my life. One of the most memorable was in Midland in 1978. We stood there, compared each other's diamonds, and talked about the piano (since that was her necklace)! I dearly loved them, and we are supposed to be related to them, with our family from Kentucky. You, Mark are the best, and I appreciate you showing the world that Christians can/do have fun!

Vestal and that beautiful smile. Sad she’s gone now. But thankful for videos to watch her. I don’t know a lot about her except that beautiful voice but you just can’t fake the enter peace she has shining through. Being a member of the LDS church I missed so much in Christian music. Not that I hadn’t been around a Godly grandmother that taught me so many gospel songs. She swore she couldn’t sing… but when working in the kitchen or garden she was always softly singing. And when I was with her I would attend the church she attended. My love of all gospel music far out reaches anything in my life! While I have tons of favorites … the one I love the most…probably because she sang it a lot. “In the garden”! She alway told me I got my voice from her daddy! Since he passed right before I was born I never met him here on earth. And yes, I was blessed and love to sing most anything, but always come back to the spiritual music. It feels my heart. I directed church music as well as the congregation choir for about 30 years. I worked with several pianist but one stands out… Marilyn Johnson. Her talent made me look good. And I miss her. But after her husband died she moved to Utah to be with part of her kids and grandchildren. At my older age I no longer desire to perform in public. But once upon a time I did professionally. Now I only sing at weddings and funerals. And at church of course. I’m a 24/7 caregiver so time is limited. But my 14 year old granddaughter with processing disorder says she loves to here me sing. She says that means I’m happy. And with loosing my husband in 2021, my father Dec 2022 and my youngest brother, James only 47 years old who passed leaving 2 minor children. He was a half brother and carried the gene from his of father the deadly Huntington’s Disease. But he passed much younger that the others. With him and my 3 step children all having Hunningtons it sad to see them wilt away from the amazing people they where before the disease. I only use the phrases half brother and step siblings for better understanding. We never used those words my amazing step dad passed almost 20 years ago. But to this day as he put it when he and mom married we are one family with no division. My step sister at 56 has been in a nursing home for about 3 years. And my step sister 6 yrs younger has been in hospice for 9 months. The step brother only 4 years younger than me swears he does not have it but we’ve been down this path before and it’s obvious he too has it. Just at a latter time in love. He, John sang and performed all over the world with the Vocal Majority for about 10 years. I’m sorry my message is so long. But as I’ve watched more and more of your videos the more I feel like I know you. And as a Godly man you stand out. I always love the beautiful songs you sing with some basic Scriptures always brings a smile to my old face. And as I started out I loved Vestal so much. Despite her age and I’m guessing health issues where there as well. She performed 100%. As do you. I think you probably enjoy the time singing with friends best. But your joking around etc., will most likely bring many to God. Again sorry this was so long. I do hope you get to see this message as I’m sure you get them by the dozens. Your friend in God, Beverly Stufflebeam. Oh and I’m a Texan too. Born in a doctors office 2 months early in Grapevine Texas and raised in Euless. But for my husbands job we moved to the waco area 33 years ago. I’m a Texas girl ( old lady) until I’m called home. Life has been a real struggle the last 7 yrs. But I have faith that surely there is another chapter in my book of life. God bless you, and stay off motor bikes. That poor right leg is tired of being a victim! Lol I so love your antics. My only thought is you’ve never married or had children. But that’s your business. But what an awesome father you would have been. My mother and grandmother didn’t like the “shut up” phrase.

When I was a teenager my mom took me to two gaither concerts where the Happy Goodman's sang, and when Vestal sang, I kid you not people got out of their seat, it was like a ringing verbratto so strong when she held those notes and waved her hankie. My mom actually has one of her Autographed Hankies.

Back in about 1979 or 1980, I stayed at Vestal and Howard's home. I was going to go to church camp with them and some nieces and nephews and such. I'd get up in the morning, all sleepy-eyed, and sit on a bar stool in the kitchen, at the island, and Vestal would come out hummin' and cookin', asking me what I was looking forward to about the day at church camp. Frankly, I think she was telling daddy I was interested in "boys". HA~! Then when they lived for a short while at Bakker's place at Heritage, I went out there. Was going to live with them for a while. That was the late 80's, but they sent me home because of the "talk" going on at the time. They didn't want me mixed up in it... or daddy's ministry. I was missing her something fierce, so thanks for this, as it shows her lovey-dovey side.
