Everyone who wants to try this art form needs to watch this video first! I wish I would have found this earlier. Thank you for your articulate quiet teaching style. No music to distract!

Really enjoyed your thought process of adding and subtracting to create such a rich feel of texture. So inspiring.

The final painting still change so much! And came out very beautiful. This just shows how difficult and long the final workings of a successful painting can be. Thank you for showing this process

you are right Brigitte--the final stages can really change a piece--that's when I always make sure that the composition and especially the values are working.

I so love this how you have brought this all together in abstract painting of such harmony in the Color’s completed.🌹

I liked the red! You aren't finished yet so I don't know what you'll do, but I kept thinking of Iron oxide. I love earthy rusts, reds and blacks w/ off whites, greys, etc. Yes! That is gorgeous!! Love the finished piece!

I just stumbled on your channel and wow I am learning so much . I love how you paint then cover up paint and cover up . I’m enjoying watching all the different techniques I can’t wait to try the wax paper printing techniques it gives such a nice effect that u wouldn’t get by just painting the white straight on the painting. Can’t wait to get back to the video to see what else is up your sleeve!

Another excellent video. Thank you !!! This is my biggest struggle.... turning the beginnings of a painting with all of the activity all over...... into a finished painting. I find it so difficult to cover up my beautiful "decorations" to simplify and form a cohesive composition. Yes... I get very attached to my beautiful decorations.... sigh.

I know you may not be able to respond but I'll be glad if you do. I can't afford to get those daler rowney transparent inks so I'm trying to get my own. Can I use golden acrylic fluid with their flow improver to create sth like a wash in place of the acrylic ink you used? Thanks.
@alisonwatt85702 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can absolutely use the fluids for glazing--I just put up a new video on glazing

Is there a video of you finishing this piece?
@alisonwatt85703 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan there isn't; all I can say is I did more of the same kind of work for another couple of hours.....until I got the right feel. I introduced stronger colour and value range.

I've tried this and it is not easy. Often less is more and I think sometimes it can look a bit fussy.
