Fred Hersch's piano intro alone elevates the song to a new level. I heard other versions, but this one is the best!

This was Mark Murphy, able to go deeper inside the lyric of the song without forgetting the music...a masterpiece that only some other singer could handle in this way. An absolute masterpiece by a great genius. MM forever.

what do you mean....the mpment you discover when true love was always in front of you? this is about love lost...the writer knows perfectly well what he lost. he is not discovering anything

My take on the lyrics: Is about lost love yes, but sometimes you didn´t notice the love of your life was in front of you for a long time in the past, and you lost it, but you don´t notice that till later in your life... Could have many interpretations... Imagination is free... Cheers...

lol....this is one of the greatest songs ever written....Sinatra has the definitive version. a famous opera singer was doing a concert..and was having trouble with this song...when Sinatras version was played for him..he responded "ahh. i see!'
