Mr Nevill, what you are saying makes absolute sense. I went to school in the 70s and 80s and this was exactly how I was taught. I went to school with Aboriginals and all of them had breakfast, lunch and clean uniforms. All of them are in stable jobs, own their own home and have children who attendeduniversity.

Teachers College for me 1966-67. I am a product of the old system and am appalled the lack of literacy taught and the responsibility of parents to give their child breakfast taken away by having breakfast at school. Many half caste kids rock up eventhough they have had breakfast - then the do-gooders contact the White parent to ask why!!!! There is too much time away from the classroom learning 'culture'.
