Love what Weatherby makes and really love the 6.5 rpm but the boutique mess and unavailability of reasonably priced ammo defies the rifle loony logic in my cookie jar. The rifles are actually reasonably priced but the ammo pricing needs attention. Please increase that element and watch Weatherby grow even more! Until then, I'll keep shooting my 300 Weatherby until my shoulder goes.

Theese look very nice. Why not use hex or torx head bottom bolts ? Slotted screw heads are impossible to keep from stripping.

I think I have watched this video 20 times over the last week. I'm thinking I will be taking 5 of my guns to a local gun shop and trade them to get a ti on order. Now I must deside on either a 280 AI or 6.5 RPM. More research.....

No you don't. Ya get bout 300 accuracy shots on a barrel and then tge throte will erode! Worthless cartridge. Get a 6.5prc. Or 6.5 rpm. Much more practical.

Have to say I have very love/hate opinion of these rifles. Really with a lot of the Weatherby line up. Let me explain....these new rifles really break Weatherby tradition. No Monte Carlo stock??? At least offer one as an option, even if it does add a ounce or 2. Why do you insist on not having the white diamond? Do you not realize that is what sets you apart on the rack at the local gun store? Ever since I was old enough to understand to look for the diamond, I have. Now it does me no good. It is a shame!! As for the idea behind these rifles, absolutely love it! The new cartridge I think is awesome but I miss seeing the double radius shoulder on it but I think I understand why it is not on it as well. Great job guys but please understand that you have a product with a huge tradition behind it and it is the little things that make a big big difference and is what sets you apart.

I am not seeing how these rifles are good for the 300 wby cartridges. They are too light to be effective at shooting large cartridges at Big game. they will be less accurate and require much more practice time (cost) to learn to use them effectively. is there an in-between recommendation? I am definitely sold on investing in Weatherby, just trying to find the right Mark V model for 300 wby.

All of our rifles carry our Sub-MOA guarantee, and while the thin barrels of our Backcountry series rifles do heat up, they are more than adequate for most hunting purposes. As far as recoil, our new 2.0 family uses the next generation 3DHEX pad which kills as much as 40% of the recoil impulse of large cartridges, while the Accubrake ST deadens as much as 50% of that impulse. Between the two, we've done a tremendous amount to dampen the recoil of magnum cartridges, making them highly shootable in our lightweight platforms. Thanks!
