I'm a mailman in CA. When Presidents and former Presidents visit my area (Rancho Mirage) their route from the airport goes right past my mail route. In the hours before, all mailboxes and manhole covers are taped off with tamper evident tape. It says US Secret Service on it. So this was one of two things, a monumental failure or a monumental setup for failure. The thoroughness of their visits is down to the tiniest of detail. So something stinks in suburbia here, in my opinion. This whole situation does not match up with what I have seen.
