You can do, invent, create whathever you want, 20 years later Apple will come with a similar product, 4x more expensive, nothing new, BUT as it's Apple whhoooow it's Revolutionary!!! Reminder, they presented the USB-C port as something cutting edge tech "iPhone 15 Pro Max with the new USB-C connector brings a huge leap in data transfer".....

Yes Exactly! It's like when they released the iPhone in 2007 and competitor were much better and more powerful! Could manage files, and share with bluetooth, Supported Flash player, had copy and paste, could RECORD video (with a better camera)!! Or like when they presented a big ipod touch as a revolutionary tablet when competitor were real computer with windows! \s What was the real breakthrough? IMHO the usability, the interface, the input methods. They were TREMENDOUSLY better than competitors. Functionality and hardware came later, and often worse than competitor. I think that we have something similar here, a very good user interface. A very good passthrough. A very good input device.

iOS is now very behind Android. Worldwide it's a pretty big difference, they only have about 40% of the number of active Android devices that are out there. But even in the US alone, Android has surpassed iOS in the number of users. I don't get why Zuckerberg feels iOS's closed model "won" the mobile space. Also, the only reason they switched to USB-C is because they were forced to, if they still wanted to sell product in the EU. It is much better and I'd advertise the change too, but they'd still be using Lightning had they not been forced to change.

@@UnreasonableArticulo I haven't said anything about that.. and I feel frustrated too about apple software in last years, ANYWAY, answering your question: The majority of them are low price smartphones. Crappy phones that don't let the company any margins. On high end smartphones apple has (sadly) a de facto monopoly. Global Phone Profits: Apple 66%, Samsung 17%, Everyone Else: Unlucky 13% (a bit old, but it's still the same). And thats selling waaay less smartphones than others. Thats why, corporate prospective, has won. Has won all.

the look on a person wearing these headset is always weird... maybe Apple VR looks slightly better... but apart from it, I like the Quest 3 more, definitely planning to buy one... hope there's google earth applicaton there, since it looks stunning in VR...

We own Quest 3, and find it incredibly helpful for teachers and students who love to learn via accelerated learning methods. By mere virtue of it creating distraction-free, sensory-engaging experiences - which is ideal for transferring information into the brain. We're using apps like VirtualSpeech (improve your communication), BodySwap (real life communication situations and public speaking) and TaleSpin (similar to BodySwap). Benefits of all 3 apps, pass over into real life. Which is truly a dream come true for avid learners. We don't use Quest 3 for entertainment, so no comment on that. But for learning, it's 10/10 product. Even if Apple Vision Pro were to bring those apps into it's store, we'd have 0% reason to switch over. Quest 3 already does the job, is light and pleasing to wear. Thank you Meta.

that's because of the light in your room and the capability of the cameras sensors on the device.. if they were to put mirrorless camera quality sensors on the device those would cost much more on their own from the actual device. So for now with the current technology quest 3 cameras are pretty decent for what they are used for. In 3-5 years we will probably get retina displays with mirror like visibility from cameras if the competition between vr companies continues like this. I remember using old vrs in a store and I bought quest 3 last week and the difference from 5 years before is unbelievable.
