Interesting ... I've been learning privately with an instructor of Filipino descent and we started with the "9 Angles of attack". When you got to number 7, that was one that I didn't learn straight away. It did come later as a variation of the 9th angle, but I was informed that it can be a little trick to incorporate into drills. It works well with abanicos but that's obviously a little more advanced, so that's why it wasn't counted as one of the "9 Angles of attack". As I was taught: Angle 8 is a downwards "slash", Angle 7 [obviously preceding it] is the opposite motion, which then allows [after Angle 8] a very natural transition into a forward thrust: Angle 9. Of course there is always adaptability in martial arts and many people will have different styles, but the fundamentals should stay pretty uniform. Anyway, great video and interesting to see your approach. Great form you have!
