In this video, we make a quick and simple tinder pouch. Perfect for keeping tinders and smaller items safe, these style of pouches can be made quite quick and from any type of durable material. I chose to use a piece of 1.5mm full grain leather, that will last for years to come and will get better with age. Thanks for watching.....

@@markbailey2981 Hi Mark, this leather might fit my needs for a tinder pouch. I would like it flexible enough to flatten a bit to fit into a pack. @@tallcedars2310 Hi TC, I have just looked at the leather I have at home and unfortunately I don't have any large enough to cut a 15" diameter circle. When I go to the show, I will see what I can pick up and if you still need any I will see if they have any thin full grain leather that can be cut to the size you need. I just have smaller pieces left that will make small wallets and pouches etc. With me not working since October, I haven't really been buying anything, but I start back in a couple of weeks, so I will get re supplied for the season :)

@markbailey2981
@markbailey2981 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucious, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It is very much appreciated. Your quite right, you can count the holes. I find that if the holes are an even number then it tends to work out that the lace will both be on the outside of the finished pouch. For this size of pouch there are 28 holes. Some of the larger ones I do have 34. If it happens that they don't end up on the outside, I simply divide the width of the spacing between the last two holes and punch another one out, so that they do. I suppose it depends on how critical the spacing needs to be. Some don't measure the spacing and randomly punch holes around the top. I hope this helps :) Have a great day and thanks again, Mark.

Hi Joe, I hope all is well brother :) Thank you as always for watching and taking the time to comment :) When it comes to buying leather working tools it is like most things. There are expensive professional tools and there are tools for people like me lol. You can pick a starter kit up for around $30. It will have most of the tools you need to get going, then I just added and changed things the more I got into it. The leather punch I was using cost around $4, so very cheap. If you look on Amazon or eBay, there are a lot of the kits available or if you go onto the Tandy Leather website, they will have a massive selection to choose from.
