Traded to the 13mm for the exact same reasons, 13mm is about as wide as you can get before fisheye starts to set in, the Sony 11mm, for instance needs a lot of corrections to get the lines as straight as the viltrox 13mm and any time you do corrections after the fact you are merging pixels and losing Sharpness / accuracy - not to mention losing field of view as well which brings it closer to 13mm. The 13mm is much better in build quality and has the aperture ring as well. Image Quality is about the same, viltrox has better contrast / CA though.

that was my first prime lens. i loved it so much on my a6100. i don't really use it anymore (switched to a sony 16mm-35mm f/4 on my a7iii), but my work uses my sigma lens for incredible depth of field and sharp images.

The Sigma 16mm f1.4 is a stellar lens. PROS: 1. Razor sharp (even more so when stopped down) 2. Fast AF 3. No focus breathing 4. Nice build quality with a buttery smooth focus ring 5. Close focusing distance for solid macro-like shots 6. Smooth bokeh combined with the close focusing distance makes aps-c shots look like fullframe 7. Amazing sunstars with its 9 aperture blades 8. Great value 9. Amazing flare control 10 Has a rubber gasket on the lens mount 11. Lovely rubberized lens hood with a nice texture 12. Looks slick NEUTRAL: 1. Lack of in-lens stabilization. (I am not putting this as a CON because most newer lenses don't have stabilization and the ones that do are usually telephoto lenses.) CONS: 1. Kind of big (not an issue in studio/home, could even be a plus) 2. Some CA wide open 3. It is not fully weather-sealed

One of the most fun lenses I have. Got good videos chasing my grandson around the house with this lens and some unusual photos that are so cute. Also have the 23mm and 56mm Sigma lenses, plus the 10-18 and 18-50. I have owned the 16mm for a few years now. It's still a beautiful piece of work/art by Sigma. I do believe that at time, I will spend more for a lens from a company like Sigma for their reputation and the quality of the product. Though I did mortgage my house for the TTArtisan 27mm f2.8 lens for the very reason it is so compact, and it really is a good shooter. Nice images.

Yes - it should work. It's possible you'll need a wider lens, so you could look at theviltrox 13 1.4 or the sony 11 1.8, but try the Sigma first in your room

I have 3 Sigma 1.4 APC E-mount lenses including the 16mm and it's still my favorite, the lens is so useable in many cases that i just love it, i'm even scared to loose little dougie because they are such a match from heaven when it comes to video, I wouldn't know what to do....

I tried this lens for my taking head vids and it was just too wide. Went with the 30mm 1.4 and it looks great (though I do wish there was an option between the two, like a 24mm). Using the ZV-e10.

I'm shooting a (2) subjects discussion next week in a very small space (200sq ft) . Do you think this lens will be able to handle it? Also, how do you focus two faces on opposite sides of the screen. The will he tough. A Sony 11 might be more helpful in that small space. To keep both subjects in focus, you need to sit them so they are in the same plane of focus (the same distance to the camera . An example would be people sitting in a couch together facing the camera. Then shoot at f4 or f5.6 to make sure they’re both in focus. Series CB to manual mode for focus because you don’t want the camera trying to guess where the focus will be

I got that lens for a real state geek a few years ago and it was okay, I got the job done for most of it however, in small rooms there was a lot of distortion in the corners of the room. It was awful, like you could see the lines of the side walls bend a lot and I couldn’t fix it in post. I ended up selling it and got the 16-35 GM instead. It’s a good lens for the price not gonna lie!

there is a setting you need to turn on with third party lenses and Sony cameras - auto corrections to on - fixes the barrel distortion in video

@@jan-jans143 for vlogging, I wouldn’t do Fuji. Most of their cameras don’t have perfect autofocus. You could get a small full frame Sony like the zv-E1 or an Apsc like the zv-e10ii

I actually prefer Sigma's own 24mm f/2 on my full frame cameras, inexpensive compared to the faster full frame lenses from Sigma and Sony, more compact than Sigma's own 16mm on APS-C while still delivering a similar depth of field and noise performance on the bigger sensors while having less flaws like chromatic aberrations. That being said, I owned and used the Sigma 16mm for years, it's still great for the money!
