Got myself one of these and i can't say the user manual was overally helpful. Whilst i would of figured out how to use it, change the parts. This video was super helpful that you showed everything and what every part was for. Saved me alot of time. Thank you

It's very similar to a mains powered one that I got from ebay. Great demo of the different attachments. This exact tool-set is called Parkside at Lidl's, although the tool itself is green, not grey, it has the same accessories and comes in that same box. There's also a more versatile bit-set for this tool with more bits and peices, like various round files, I think three sizes, which you can use for sanding out wheel arches on the plastic bodies. These extra bits come in a larger kind of square box that has a rotatable stand. Have an extra look around the shelves in your store, they should have it. Good thing is that it's all compatible with the original Dremel tools.

Hi Thomas and thanks for the interesting comment! I didn't know that Lidl sold similar tools. I'll have to check them out more often! That bit set sounds ideal for RC modelling. Hi Mark, this is a nice set up. A rotary tool is an absolute essential for any RC hobbyist. My first Dremel lasted 20 years. The tool was fine but the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. I think a corded higher power rotary to cut/file metal and a smaller cordless are the perfect combo if you have the funds. I think a review of all the tools needed for RC beginners would be a great youtube video. Take care!
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, I don't know how I've managed all these years without a rotary tool! I would also buy a genuine Dremel but money is very tight and this cheap copy will have to do for me. TBH I'm really pleased with it's performance. Plenty enough power for modelling. A corded version would be better for heavier work though. Another great idea for a video, cheers! Take care too, Bro! :))

@@MarkBryanRC When I gave one to my dad, he looked at it a little bemusedly and said"Well, thank you very much for this, though I confess I'm not sure what I'll use it for". A week later, while traversing a muddy slope with a trailer full of firewood, his Shogun slid sideways into a tree and punched a hole in a rear light lens. Next time I saw him he proudly showed me how he's trimmed the hoke to a neat rectangle with his Dremel and patched it with a piece of red translucent plastic from an old, broken light lens. They are surprisingly useful!

Oh no! It's always the same when you lose something (I think it's Murphy's law) If you replace it the old one turns up! At least you have plenty of tools to choose from. Best wishes and enjoy the hobbying!

Very handy tool indeed. But I am so old fashioned, I would prefer the version with a cord. So it would always have enough power when I need it and I cant forget to charge it. 🤣🤣

Fair enough, each to their own my friend! I'm very old fashioned myself! I do prefer a cord for heavy duty work, like using a power drill. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, always appreciated! :)

bought this but it didn't work.. even though brand new, turn it on and dead no lights. plugged charger in and it registered red+yellow meaning there was charge even though it was dead. because I lost receipt it couldn't be sent off under warrenty so took it apart tested with multi meter and the motor was knackered and dragging the charge off the batteries. the batteries are cheap shit ones, no wonder the company says 3 year warranty but only 6 months for the batteries, they have no trust in the product..

forgot to mention it is not a battery.. it is 3 x 18650 batteries cheap ones at that..

Sorry to hear the issues you had with this! Too bad you lost the receipt because I find Aldi is good at refunds if a product is faulty. It does make me wonder if the quality of these newer releases has been compromised because my old Aldi rotary tool is still going strong! 😎👍

I tried a couple of different usb-c chargers but.. one wasn't even turning on the leds, the other seemed to turn it on but wasn't able to charge it in a full day, not even a move from the red led.. on the other side, I'm worried that the original 12v charger could be used by mistake on a phone and fry that.. so I'm going to label that "odd" usb-c charger with some warning color label ;)
@LucaPierobon
@LucaPierobon Жыл бұрын
the point is that "classic" usb is usually 5v, so it's unlikely that it can charge a tool which requires 12v

Aldi customer service are useless! The battery charger for mine has died. Customer service say they dont sell spares. New unit ordered via internet similar price and spares ARE available!
