Great review. I have been gaming this driver since November and it is the real deal. Going in there was no way that a light weight shaft was going to work for me but it does. The weighting in the grip really helps my tempo and find the center of the face much more consistently. Forgiveness, looks, feel, performance, etc. are excellent. And don't think this is just for old men as it is not. At 6'4 and 280 I take a pretty good swipe at the ball and this holds up nicely.

I played with this driver for 2 or 3 rounds. I was impressed with the ability of this driver to find fairways. However, I lost about 25-30 yards of distance. The balls seemed to fly off the clubhead and then just fall out of the sky! My swing speed is around 100-105 and I believe that individuals with slower swing speeds would find benefits using this driver.

I used one at a demo day last year, and effortlessly gained 15 yards or so. After 3 swings I was sold. Unfortunately I kept swinging it, and started hooking the krap out of it. So, no sale. A friend of mine hit it well, and bought one. For him it straightened out his misses by miles. Best driver he's ever had, not even close. He swings a little over 90. I think he swings this one easier, probably. Also, I can tell he is spinning it a LOT and hitting it very high. But in his case, the extra spin is keeping him in play.

The regular shaft is very flexible, compared to other brands. If you have a smooth transition, it goes straight and long, but as soon as you try to force it, it snaps to the left

TXG posted a video on different club weights, both swing and total weights. Interesting how by just changing the grip changed the performance of the club. 10 grams moved either way by using a larger/heavier or lighter grip made noticeable differences. Just reinforces the importance of getting fitted.

Hi fellas. Agree about the grip size being a touch on the skinny side. A bit tricky to change as not only is the overall size small but the grips are extremely thin because it needs to accommodate a larger shaft butt diameter. A bit like the old Taylor Made Burner grips. In fact XXIO make unique grips for their clubs and also make specific grips for driver, fairway, hybrid and irons with differing core sizes.

XXIO is owned by Dunlop as is SRIXON if we are being told the right information. An old mate of mine has one of these , earlier model and loves it. I have hit it and liked it a lot. I think the pronunciation is xisxio a bit like zerox if that helps.

XXIO X 2020 is for "better" player . X 2018 and Eleven 2020 are for slower swing speeds . I gained 6 MPH ball speed against everything on 2018 X driver . I'm 85 mph swing . Also you can play a lower loft with the weight loss and correct flex i.e. 12 normally down to 10.5. All my clubs will be XXIO when i can afford it this year . It's your fault, Mark. I watched this review and also your review of the newest XXIO X with the green trim, Miyazaki AX-II shaft and adjustable hosel. I saw a brand new XXIO X in this model with the orange trim, 10.5 degree with Miyazaki AX-I stiff 47 gram 4.9 torque shaft (actually the International Flex Code is 4333, with 4 being between stiff and regular and 3 being regular flex), on the website of a major company selling pre-owned clubs for only US $252. Based on your results, I bought it. Arrived on June 22, 2023. I tested it at the PGA SuperStore near me in Rockville, Maryland this afternoon, using the practice bays with screens that provide all data except club speed. Used the new 2023 Mizuno RB Tour ball with only 272 dimples as it has the spin I need. Compared it with my present driver, a Callaway Epic GBB Sub Zero 10.5 degree head with a Graphite Design AD-IZ 6 stiff 63 gram 3.2 torque shaft. (I also have the AD-IZ 5 R1 flex 54 gram 4.5 torque shaft, have alternated the two, will test that one against the XXIO in the next day or two.) The XXIO came out ahead for me. Averages ball speed 119.9, launch angle 18.1, Backspin 2248, peak 84, descent angle 37.1, carry 198 total 220. Best shot was ball speed 123.3, peak 99, carry 206, total 230. With my Callaway Epic averages ball speed 116.0, launch 18.0, backspin 1908, peak 74, descent angle 34.1, carry 191, total 215. Best shot was ball speed 117.8, peak 84, carry 198, total 222. So basically an 8 yard gain right off the bat. Can probably increase it a bit more. I realize the numbers may not seem impressive, but then I had my 82nd birthday on June 17. Am told my numbers are quite good for that age. So I thank you, Mark. Footnote: XXIO costs more because they use extremely high quality materials. The ATI Titanium they use is what deep ocean submersibles are built of that don't implode like the unfortunate Titan just did. The Miyazaki shaft uses TORAYCA T1100G carbon fiber with an advanced NANOALLOY resin matrix, which is exactly the same materials that Graphic Design uses in its very expensive shafts (MSRP US $500, or as upgrades US $350).

Zek-zi-oh if you want to pronounce it properly, I started gaming their driver 2 years ago with massive success, combined with the miyazaki shafts I'm now gaming all their clubs , the weight plus system is a small weight in the grip so that the club acts as a pendulum to create greater head speed , these are mainly aimed at slower swing speed golfers hence why they are so lightweight

The Orientals in general like luxury products. These clubs are built strictly for them. They are not for golfers with high ball speed and powerful swings. By and large, the Japanese are smaller than Americans; which explains the lightness of the clubs. The XX10 can be made to fit their size. There is an XX10 manufacturing plant in Western Canada, built specifically to cater to the large Chinese and Japanese population.

Just can't get over how 152 mph ball speed can carry 270+ yards... I have 165 mph and 2000 spin but I only carry it 270 yards (trackman data). Also the smash factors on your middled shots is 1.38-1.4 which is horrible. Maybe due to gc quad measuring it differently?
@danielsutherland37925 жыл бұрын
Konsta Mattsson Foresight measures swing speed differently to TM - consistently about 4mph faster than TM, which at least partly explains the lower than TM standard smash factor. Foresight’s algorithm is overly generous on low spinning drives too. It’s been a thing for years, so don’t know why they haven’t corrected it.
