You've been testing these clubs for weeks now and still aren't confident which driver would suit best. How are us mere mortals supposed to get it right in a 45 minute fit session at a range or in a studio?

@garethedwards98964 жыл бұрын
I think what you have to take from it, is that if your not completely happy when it comes to paying then its time to have more sessions on the fitting. 45 mins fitting for some will be enough time and for some it may be 2 or 3 or even maybe 5 sessions to get fitted for what truly fits them. My new driver i got at Silvermere but i first got fitted at my golf clubs and then American golf before my final fitting and i did end up with a different driver in the end as well so time well spent for me.
@paulhudson22934 жыл бұрын
@@garethedwards9896 Silvermere certainly have a great facility for their fitting, but if you don't buy something, you're paying money for that fit, so multiple sessions there isn't viable. I think this particular test is a bit skewed because those two are really opposite ends of the spectrum. Saying that, it highlights that the performance gains aren't massive, between a £800 club versus a £270 club, so why spend the money. If it's free, I'll take the extra 10 yards of carry, if I'm paying for it, maybe I'll save my £500.

$345 Au for the HB Launcher Turbo in OZ. I bought one. Love it! The fact that you are even considering the Cleveland shows that you are not a golf club snob. I think you should game the CHBL first. It would assist a lot of golfers who don't have access to a fitting service see what you can achieve with an off the rack / non adjustable driver. Getting the right loft for your game is the only variable; 9., 10.5 or 12 degrees. For me the ability to hit the fairway far exceeds my need for 5 metres extra carry distance. Being way cheaper is a big plus too. I thought the Cleveland also had a counter balanced shaft?

With the space you have in the bag with the choice of wedges, put them both in the bag! Looks like you have a fairway finder and then one made for the 10 finger step through. Will keep the marketing departments happy. Additionally gave you tested of the deck at 7* it's a shot you play?

I'm not sure the XXIO is twice the club of the turbo as the price would suggest. I'm more sold on the turbo for my next driver and fairway woods. But I'll have to give up my extra 15 yards RBZ's to do it.
@STUARTLEHRMAN14 жыл бұрын
5 wood vs 3 wood - when loading your bag which would be most versatile I carry a 5 only - easy to hit off the deck and in a little rough.

What about the torque on the light shaft? I tried a TS1 with the lightest shaft and gained significant yards, but found my misses going way off line. One of the differences I noticed from heavier shafts was lower torque. Miyazaki’s seem to have lower torque than the shafts paired up with TS1. True?

This really shows that you should search when buying new clubs. Have 2 or 3 brands in mind, and then try them out. You dont have to buy that day. Go back in a week and try your top 2 drivers out. My comment on the XXIO is you are setting up a higher variance driver (light head, light swing weight with counterbalanced shaft, club face opened to target line with delofting (this will almost certainly increase lie angle as well (more knife edge)) but when you hit it, you 'can' get a 277 carry. If you are going to be running out of cars to do quick rounds this does not seem like the path to take. Would like to see a TXG 'fitting' video where they test out both with a dotted up face to show impact and recommend some tweeks (Head weight, non counterbalanced light shaft, etc)
