It works!!! THANK YOU Mark! I went to the range to try. After two session my driver speed jumped from 100 to 105 while keeping a good smash factor and without hurting my back. Incredible. I have been training with a small radar (approach G80) since 2019 and take regular lesson with a pro. It took me years to go from 95 to 100. Off course as a golf addict I have tried many KZbin tips to improve my speed and consistency. I never fully understood how to use the ground until I saw Mark jumping out his shoes and understanding the timing of it. To gain 5MPH in 2 range sessions…incroyable. Merci Mark.

It's so interesting how much emphasis on power there is now in golf. Since strokes gained measurement became mainstream, we now understand how much of an advantage distance is in the game. Instead of modern teachers saying "slow the swing down to hit the ball square", now it's, "train your body to make movements that will create power, and you will score better anyway". Great lesson and explanation by the way, Mark!

I remember my tennis instructors would say the same thing. Slow your serve down and "get it in". Ignored them and just went for more and more power. Ironically the harder you swing the more it goes in due to the increased topspin!

Great video Mark. Real lesson teaching is THE best way to demonstrate changes to a golf swing. The best explanation away from the golf swing is throwing a medicine ball down into the ground. Awesome content, but one question: the statement about tour peak grip speed peaking near shoulder height coming down made at 7:04 doesn't look supported by what was shown on GEARS at 2:03 when the pro swing was put up alongside (where both swings look to be hitting peak grip speed at about waist high but with a very big difference in shaft angle)

Love this. Great content. Can you explain how increasing the vertical forces can help the strike? I can see how it would help CHS, but I would have thought that since you were adding another variable (vertical distance changes to/from ball), strike consistency would decrease. How does it help consistency of strike? Thanks!

Hi Mark - Im not the sharpest tool in the shed and need some clarity 😅 These statements “he was too passive at the top” “Taking you far too long to get the grip accelerating” “need to get these hands pressuring down quicker.” Seems like these are queues to activate the arms sooner but the rest of the video is about ground force. Can you clarify? 😩

Go and get a tennis ball, hold it over your head as if you’re going to throw it as hard into the ground as you can( to make it bounce high). Do your legs move ? They should bend, you get lower, before you throw the ball your legs will start to get straighter. I think this is the ground force they’re talking about.
@pederjensen72888 ай бұрын
I have been after you in some aid videos. But this video moved me crazy. I was fighting to keep 100mph driver swing with typical 145/146 ball speed. But now with this going down and jumping up I easily hit 102 and 150+ ball speed. What is best is that I actually not even use much effort that I typical did with very much sliding . I still need to learn the feel and rythm of the ground as my timing is a bit off sometimes, as I never used it. I guess with more practise 105 will be makable After one hour my issue is that I sometimes jumps a bit back instead rotating forward - but that is. because it feels so crazy still. And also the feel that I actually start to go down very early in the backswing. Crazy, to jump up in the downswing. can´t wait to try again

This is facscinating. If you look at the graphic at 2:01 would you conclude that his hand speed peaks too late, or that he throws away his wrist angles too early? Because it looks like the hands are practically at the same height as for the tour player, even though the club is much further away from the ball.

To echo what others have said, one of your best videos to date Mark. It shows what benefits modern date capture can bring to understanding where power is generated. Mark, one question I have, some instructors suggest you should try to generate maximum swing/hand speed by accelerating through the ball to feel as though maximum speed is generated post impact. unless I'm mistaken, I think you/the instructor were trying to get maximum speed by arms parallel. I'm interested to hear your take on this? thanks.

Would it be correct to summarize as follows: to get peak speed of body movements at the right time he needed to feel like at left arm parallel back he starts pressuring the body down into the legs (maybe start feeling like he was pulling the grip down around the same time), and then at left arm parallel down he needed to feel like like he was taking that compressed spring pressure and push back up with it?

@toytalks75417 ай бұрын
"Pivot rotation belongs to the deceleration profile and does not directly add speed to the clubhead. Therefore, it is important to understand that pivot rotation primarily aids in controlling the deceleration of the clubhead rather than generating additional speed. Loading the shaft earlier refers to the timing of transferring energy and loading potential into the clubshaft during the downswing, making use of the angular motion via the coupling point. It is about initiating the proper sequence of movements and transferring the energy efficiently to maximize clubhead speed. By loading the shaft earlier, the player can unleash the stored potential energy at the right moment, generating more power and speed in the swing. When discussing the wrist angle maintained at the start of the downswing and the position of the shaft in relation to the speed at that moment, it is possible to provide the player with a simple instruction to load the shaft earlier, without relying on tour player data. However, it is crucial to clarify that instructing the player to aggressively lower their hand from the start of the downswing does not necessarily imply asking them to load the shaft at the start of the downswing sooner through the coupling point (pressure point #3). These two aspects should be considered separately. Regarding the comment on Rory's technique (Rory, will lower his body well before start down, and jump two inches during the impact zone), it is important to note that Rory is not intentionally trying to jump. Instead, he is aligning his body angle well before the release by pushing his left foot forward and pulling the right foot back. Finally, what should be explained to the player is that they should load the clubshaft via the coupling point sooner at the start of the downswing. Before reaching the top, they should apply force to both feet and prepare for the release. By pushing the left foot forward and pulling the right foot back, the body will naturally lower without the need for the player to squat." Hope what will be some contribution Dr. Ken To
