I started golfing last year at 35 years old, I bought the Fmax one length as my very first set ever. The idea of only learning one swing really appealed to me and it still does. I’m planning on getting properly fitted for the ForgeTech in the near future. Cheers from Raleigh, North Carolina!

Dear Mark, I was an aspiring junior reaching single handicap at 12 and was at 4 by the time I was 14. It was like set in stone that I would one day work in golf. Then it just stopped for me, I struggled in tournaments and stopped to reach the goals my pro set for me. He blamed it on me, that I didn't practice enough although I spent so many nights at the chipping and pitching area and biking home way past dark. I grew hatred to the game and although I never started playing any other sports I just couldn't get anywhere, especially mentally. Now I'm 32 and I'm still struggling to pick up a golf club without getting bad feelings. Still, every year or two I watch a couple of your videos and I get really excited about playing again, all the good memories return. But usually just 1-2 hours at the range or 9 holes completely drains me and my thoughts always circle around what could have been had I only been better. I wish I could somehow return to the game and feel excited about playing and accepting that I might never play at the level I did back then - but still go out and enjoy hitting the ball without taking it so seriously. Do you have any experience of this or any suggestions for how I could find my love for the game again? Best regards /Hans, Sweden

In England you can receive CBT for free on our national health system which can basically help rewire your mind to think more positively about playing golf. Anything like that in Sweden? I'm guessing you've tried a lot of simpler things to try to help (playing with 5 clubs, playing pitch and putt, joining a society etc.)? I'm sure 9 holes with the muppets would put a smile on anyone's face...what about it MC?

I have the F8 one length iron set, I love them. I am a 14 handicap. I am 56 years old. I love the consistency, distance and feel. Cobra has won me over. I am not going to be a professional. I do not play the tips, I play men's tees, and I have fun playing weekly with my friends. I like the fact that I CAN use a 4 and 5 iron and actually hit them, with Cobra one lengths. New irons have gotten so long, that I had to replace the longer irons with hybrids. I like the fact with Cobra, I can use a full set of irons and hit my distances. They work for me. Thanks Mark for all your videos, I appreciate and respect your insight!

I’ve been playing the F8 one length for two seasons now. My only gripe is the chunky ness of the sole and a tad bit heavy. I love the concept of not worrying about ball position. Since I only play maybe once a week and don’t have time to practice, it just keep things simple. I’ve gone from a 10hcp to an 8hcp without having to practice. It works for me.

Love your guys reviews on one length! Have no bias against them (which so many others do). I game one length F8s. Absolutely love them hands down best clubs I’ve ever played. As for the top end, I game up to a 5i (22.5*) and then use a 3hybrid (19*) as a substitute for a 4 iron. Ends up tapping the clubs perfectly then that way I’ve found.

in response to your comment about not meeting anyone who "needs" one-length : I'm 6'6" with back issues - had one disc surgery and have some other issues. Cobra made me a set of graphite one length irons and wedges at plus 2 inches. This makes the short clubs what would seem ridiculously long to most people but has greatly reduced the amount of back pain I have after playing. I only play irons up to the 7 - and I love them. Having said that I tried the one length hybrids and really disliked them for basically the same reason - I want to be able to stand as straight up as possible. After a demo day a few weeks ago (before the Coronavirus killed events) I went to Taylormade Sim Max Hybrids at + 3/4 inch. They blended nicely into my Cobra irons and woods. Thanks for your reviews.

I've been playing the Tom Wishon sterling single length irons for 3 years. Absolutely love them. Not a fan of the cobra line. Great review per usual! I've gamed the Cobra King Forged One length for a year now and I don't see myself going back to variable length anytime soon. One of the best things about one length clubs is that it cuts my practice time in half. I can work on shot shapes and accuracy bucket after bucket without losing sleep that I didn't hit every club above my 6 iron during my practice session. Another plus for me is that I like the simplicity of the setup throughout the set. This translates seamlessly onto the course and helps me by having one less thing to think about before I hit my shot. And the last thing I should mention is that the clubs are stunning! Great quality through and through. I'm so glad I tried the one length because prior to doing so, I had never tried a Cobra product. Now they are the first company I look at when I am in the market for a new club. Their quality and price really can't be beat.

One length went in the bag as of last week. A change from 695MB's. There is an adjustment period going on for sure, but I feel like my strike is on the improve. I'm naturally a low ball flight so it kind of seems pretty similar in the 4 and 5 irons. Gapping possibly a little tight. Happy to get some extra height with the shorter irons as my course is a links style. Spin seems to be on par with what you show on the video. I've seen my 7 iron spin off the front of a green to a tight pin. Just adjustment time. Happy with the decision overall to go the way I've gone.

Hi Mark- I’ve been using Cobra F9’s since February and my handicap has dropped from a 23 to 16.5 over the summer. I had a tough time with my short game initially (as a number of people have expressed in the comments) so now my 4 iron thru PW are One Length and my Gap, 56 degree and SW are standard progressive length. The F9’s are great and much longer than my old clubs - 7 iron has gone from 150 to 165 yards which was a nice surprise. To complete the package I ordered new driver and 3 wood combo that are 1 inch short which has really helped me keep it in the fairway.

They seem like about 1/2 a club longer than the F7. I have tried some graphite shafted SL irons from Milford golf in Oz. Very similar to F7 Cobra at 50% the price. I love one length because I get more value out of my range sessions. I have one length from 4hybrid down to my lob wedge and it’s honestly the same exact same setup and swing for those 10 clubs. As a result I’ve been able to focus on my driver and 3-wood even more, now I’ don’t have a weak club in the bag. my woods are longer and more accurate than ever, and I’ve been able to drop 7 strokes off my game in a span of 5 months. The concept is simple yet so effective, why more people don’t get into one length is beyond me.

New to golf, started playing about 1.5 years ago, purchased a set of regular clubs (game improvement type) about 6 months later switched to One Length, Cobra F9. Yes I had to get a bit used to the long 8i, 9i & wedges, but the confidence I felt hitting 4i & 5i was well worth it. Now that I've been using the OL for almost 1 year I'm absolutely convinced it was the right choice for me, it truly is exactly the same swing for all clubs. i do sometimes 'choke-up' on the SW & my 60, but I don't find that difficult at all. Yes the flight is lower on the 4i & 5i (comparing to traditional clubs), and the flight on the wedges is very high, but I don't see how this has a negative impact, since the yardage and gapping works very well for me. Like 99% of us, golf is our hobby, we will never make money playing this great game, so if the gaping is 8yds vs. 10 yds from traditional clubs this will certainly not affect my overall satisfaction of playing the game. I would not recommend one length to an experienced low handicap golfer, no reason to re-learn, but I would most certainly recommend all new golfers to at least try them. cheers!!

Really enjoyed the review. I haven’t tried one length, but I have used arccos this year. I agree with your comment that golfers are nervous about the accuracy of the numbers. However, my main issue is that arccos seems to miss a few shots, and correcting this afterwards is a hassle. Also, it does not seem to recognize penalties (or I haven’t found out how to correct for them). It’s a good system, but maybe too much data.

Great video Mark. One length clubs can only be called "GAME IMPROVEMENT" clubs because you can not cheat physics. The club head speed of any club increases with length because the head is farther away from the pivot point. No matter how they configure the club.
@scottsmith85464 жыл бұрын
@Just Hustle Speed is the most important factor when controlling the distance of each club...but I understand that if you hit it higher or lower etc...the distance will change. My point was, if you have 35" club as a PW and 35" 7 iron at it's normal length, it is really hard to get a longer PW to hit the spots it would as a shorter(more normal) PW. In a nutshell, things that are farther away are going faster than things that are closer to you with the same swing.

I own the F9 Speedback One Lengths. 6i - SW (One Length) but I went with the standard length F9 Speedback 4H and 5H. I've had no trouble gaming the one lengths. I got the OL because I have a bad back and have trouble with short irons and they make them easy. When I tried the OL 5H, I had 0 gapping between that and the 6i, and only 9 yds between the 5i and the 6i, whereas there is 13 yds between the 7i and 6i. I never had any trouble with standard length hybrids so why change?

I tried the one length last year, played 5rounds with them. I shot my best round ever. It took a couple of rounds to get used to

Played the Sterlings and liked them but had problems with 9-SW with pulling the all left of target every time . Went back to fitter and he bent them as much as he could but I still couldn't hit them straight so I sold them after 6 months of trying !

I understand the concept and would like a set of one length irons from the 7 to 4 irons. But I don't really have a problem hitting my short irons so they would not appeal to me as I would always be scared I would hit a wedge and it would just fly too far.

I use one length in 6i, 5i, 3ut. I found that the 4i didn't gap enough from the 5. Then I play 5 wood, 3 wood, driver at the top end. At the low end I game mizuno jpx921's to 7-PW and 3 t20 wedges (50, 55, 60). It took me two years to design my frankenbag.

Heck yes. I am gaming one length. Started last year and dropped a ton of strokes off the game. Can’t wait for year 2.

I dropped about 6 shots off handicap this year down to 6 index. At first the shorter clubs bothered me, and I choked up. By end of summer, same grip and same setup every shot...so easy.

What do I like: 1. Practice with 1 club (same as every other club) reduce time at range. 2. Consistent setup. Every club. Easy. No thinking makes it easier to focus on hitting shots. 3. Arccos erases all doubts. If you center the hit, you know exactly what to expect. Overall....game changer.

With custom fit/built shafts one length clubs are amazing. the low flight and gapping issues are removed.

Haven’t tried 1 length only because I’m still loving my current irons

I've got a set of Cobra F8 one length irons. I played everything up to 7 iron this year. I'm still training on 6,5, and 4. I hit the 6 and 5 much more reliably now (some of that is swing technique improvement I'm getting from watching your channel, by the way), but I get just about nothing between 5 and 4. As I get older, I'm finding a 4 iron of any stripe to be harder to hit, so I actually game a Cobra F8 hybrid, which I can easily get up and out where a 4 iron should be (190-195 yards). Next season (I'm in upstate New York, so the season may not start for another 6 months. meh), I'm going to play the set except for the 4. Wasn't fitted for them, but then I've never had a fitting. I bought these from one of my golf buds who bought 'em and hated 'em. Cheap.

I have been playong King Forged One Lengths for a few years now. (the ones with traditional lofts). I have LW-5i. I swapped out my 4i with one length 4h and 3h. I really enjoy the set. I'm 6'3" tall so I like the longer wedges. The wedges go pretty high and the long irons are flatter and they do bunch up a bit, but I do hit them straighter. I'll probably stick with them.

I am playing a 3 iron - as driving iron - in Cobra Utility Iron. I love it consistent strong flight hitting fairway 19 out 20 shots. Awesome.

Yep.. Same here... I took my 4 hybrid out of the bag and put this in, but I rarely pull my driver or even my 3 wood on the tee anymore. Maybe 2x-4x a round depending on width of fairway.

I had one length F9’s but have recently decided to switch back to standard and just purchased the forged tecs. I liked the one lengths my only issue was I didn’t feel like I had the control I wanted with the 8-gw

Yes. Got the F7s in 5-Pw, keen to try these to replace 8-Pw

I played the cobra forged one length, and i loved them. the only issue i had was that eventually after playing more and more, i needed different shafts which meant a custom fitting. I would play one length again without any issue, but I got custom fit into mizuno JPX 919 tour irons. I loved the one length, and it was the second performer behind the mizunos. the only difference was that I liked the height better with the mizunos in the longer irons, and I found it easier to shape the golf ball. I sold my set to a friend, and he has gone from a 24 handicap to a 16 since getting them. They are so easy to use since you don't have to change any other part of your swing. I think people should look into them more, but make sure that you get the right shaft and weight to help with your ball flight. Otherwise those forged one irons were incredible.

I have gamed the Cobra F9 One Length clubs for the last 10 months, and last week received a new 5-GW set of the Forged Tec One Length clubs. Obviously I like the One Length concept enough to buy a second set. Why two sets? The F9's will stay at my US home and the Forged Tec clubs will stay at my Scotland home, primarily because after a week with the Forged Tec's I find they fly a bit lower than the F9's. I should also note that after a year of using the F9s with Lamkin Mid-Sized grips, I have re-gripped both sets with medium sized JumboMax St8Tec grips. On the other clubs in my bag--TM M4 driver and HiLoft 3-wood, M4 19° hybrid, and two Forged TM wedges, I installed the JumboMax UltraLite grips which I thanks gives me a bit more sense of the club head. The fat grips have reduced my grip pressure resulting in greater accuracy and length from a better release. I'm an older (70), 17 handicapper who played off 12 to 13 for most of my golfing days when I was younger, and hope to get back down to how I used to play. I highly recommend the one length clubs for the all reasons that Cobra has stated although the most compelling reason is one swing--all irons. I should add that I love change in general, while many golfers, notably Mark Crossfied 😎, are generally resistant to change. When Cobra comes out with wedges in one length that are a good match for the Forged Tec irons, I intend to change over my 54° and 58° wedges as well. I understand that Cobra is targeting January or February for the launch of these.

Gaping seems to be a swing speed issue - Alex Etches (hits the ball like a train) got matching gaps through the set. I find the bunching you described at the top end, so play 4, 6,
