Couldn’t begin to tell you how many times I caught a carp floating a simple piece of bread on top of the water!

Love fishing for carp this way. It can be so frustrating though, like for you when you flirt out a load of bait and yours is the last piece to be touched and with that coot eyeing up your bread to 🤣🤣

i don't mind the coots steve, they come in and take the odd mixer, it's the ducks that are greedy, once they get on you they just rampage through your swim grabbing everything. thankfully i'm freelining so i'm very close to the baits and the action, close enough for them to have second thoughts😁😁😁lol

it's great fishing adam, catching carp off the surface is one of the most exciting ways to catch them, that moment as they come up and take your bait is just magic👍😁

they do my head in sometimes danny, they stop taking completely if you use a controller and they seem to be able to work out the hookbait easily, i constantly have to trim it down to remove buoyancy until eventually i manage to trick one :) they are just the same with a weight in the bait and the hook on top, I've never known such skittish carp as these😉

Just watching that video shows, great to see and shows its not always as simple as the korda etc vidoes make it look. shocked me last year how fast they learn, 3 years ago carp where washed out of a commercial into a club lake, they had never been fished for on floating crust before, that season they came easy as such. last year and i imagine into this one the games changed, ultra cagey slapping the bread to break it up before taking the tiniest morsals. That the small carp in the 3-8lb range the better doubles and upper doubles swim right past and most of the time will only take break thats drifted into the snags. Craft old fish.

sorry gaz, it's a private water and i can't say where it is, some waters respond better to floater fishing than others but i don't know anywhere that doesn't allow it?.

Loads of lakes near me don't allow it as well. Think it's because they are ran by match anglers.

really craig?, i'm surprised at this, i didn't think that many waters banned floaters?, that's a shame as it's such a great way to catch them. i guess it could be a match anglers thing?, i'm at a loss as to why they would ban the method though?.
