The hard work on the video is great. But during high vix the premiums will usually b high . So getting a SL of 70 points will be very easy as compared to during low vix. Do you think we should calculate the SL based on % rather then points?

I will second this, it will be better to back test using percentage based SL instead of fixed 70 points. it will yield realistic results.

In the high VIX environment, premium will be high and 70pt SL will definitely get hit. Using SL in %, could have given more clarity.

I second this. Never BT with SL on points. The premiums and ATM strikes are not the same especially over such a long period. 3 years back 400 points move in Nifty happened over 6 months. Now its a weekly range.

Hi, Saket, Agreed that's why & how the vix is calculated.. & is logical .but heard many experienced sellers telling to sell in high vix months only. Fine keeping that apart, if we consider vix as an instrument & we know it reverts to its mean.. So suppose we are positional sellers & we sell as usual, but due to the inherent nature of mean reversion of vix we will definitely be in loss if vix increases.. So what's your take on this argument of not selling in low vix months for this reason & how to deal with this.. .

any one hlp me , i use bull call spread strategy the problem here is when the market moved favor to my direction ( bullish) the option strike which i sold will hit my stop loss and the sold position will be exited , but i buy deep itm options which will never increase/decrease it remains the same even if the market moves further in my direction ....what is the mistake im doing here? and what is the solution for it

In bull call spread , it is better not to put stop loss. Close the trade when you get enough profit. Or may be you can close the position, if overall trade is making losses more than you can accept. You could adjust your gap between your sell and buy positions either at the start of the trade or as the trade progresses.

@Sasti K Deep itm options is like future. For every one point move in spot nifty , you either lose or gain one point. But problem with deep itm option is : liquidity is low. So when you try to close the position , you will lose money because of huge gap between buy and sell ( spread ) So , better close both these positions when your option is getting into ITM. So your problem most likely is : no trade is happening in deep itm option.

Every option seller knows this. When the markets consolidates it is ok. When the market trends it is also ok. But when the markets trend from consolidation, every this and that collapses, ends up in adjusting positions and loose finally.
