I think you went to the wrong V&A Waterfront market. The one you went to had mostly fruits and vegetables, while the V&A Waterfront market had a lot of food. If you come to Cape Town again, you should go to the Kirstenbosch Gardens (I know you tried to but the weather was bad) and go to the Newlands Forest. Also Constantia is sooo beautiful with a lot of Vineyards, restaurants and lots of wine. There is a lot more in Cape Town with the forest areas, while you went to the mostly beach and tourist areas.

I feel like Bald is pretty unique and kind of in a class by himself, not easily comparable to others. Also I'm curious, you're the second person I've seen recently say that Bald would be ending his channel relatively soon. Where has he said this? That would be a shame if true.

The pancakes are called poffertijies (pronounced "poffer keys") in South Africa. I do believe these are called Poffertjes in native Dutch). South Africa holds a vibrant Dutch culture that is mixed with the local African cultures. Its totally unique, has a ton to share and is warm and welcoming to visitors the world over! Enjoy!

Probably the reason for getting poffertjes way before Netherlands is because, as you probably already know, Afrikaans is almost identical to Dutch, which was brought over by the Boers several hundred years, and during their centuries of separation from the Mother language, it morphed into Afrikaans, but the Dutch food remained unchanged in some ways.
