Fleeting shot of a Clark Airborne C-1 bulldozer they must have taken in a glider. The final few shots are from the re-enactment movie Theirs was the Glory from 1946 using actual locations and personnel that took part.

This would've been far better titled as "Planes and gliders crashing and landing in Operation Market Garden". Because I think there were MAYBE three or four knocked out American and German tanks in it; which was actually what the video was allegedly about.

The WACO glider at 2:50 in the video. Looks like the jeep it was carrying (you can see the wheels at 2:55) shifted forward, which caused it to go nose in. Pilots would not have come out of that okay. R.I.P. all the brave lads that took on such an incredible task

At 11:01 - Tiger II note (with photo): *Did Germans use King Tigers in Operation Marker Garden?* Yes, though they seem to have turned up right towards the end of the battle and mainly fought in the counter-attack immediately after the official end of the operation. Schwerepanzer Abteilung 506 had finished re-equipping with Tiger IIs less than a week before the battle began. It had been transferred off the Eastern Front for this conversion, and was then sent west in a reaction to the Allied paratroop landings. A Tiger II of 2./S.Pz.Abt.506 destroyed by British paratroopers in Oosterbeek. The 506th was sent by train into the battle area, arriving there on the night of 23/24 September. They were attached to 9th SS Panzer Division, 10th SS Panzer Division, Kampfgruppe Spindler, and Kampfgruppe Allwoerden to support the counter-attacks against the Allied positions. The Tiger IIs seem to have done most of their fighting in early October, which is typically regarded as being right at the end of, or after, Market Garden. Whether you would count that fighting as being part of Market Garden is up to you, though the tanks definitely arrived in theatre before the end of the battle. www.quora.com/Did-Germans-use-King-Tigers-in-Operation-Marker-Garden

And this boys and girls is why the military doesn’t rely on gliders. As you can plainly see wheel landings on fields wasn’t pretty. Maybe replace wheels with skis, but then takeoff would require a detachable wheel assembly…
