A sad day in Indianapolis. One of the greatest places to ever see a concert and the venue where Elvis Presley performed his last concert.

One of my most fond memories took place on February 5, 1988, when the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘WWF The Main Event’ LIVE on NBC from the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana. This event still holds the world record for the most watched professional wrestling show that ever aired on television. It drew a 15.2 Nielsen rating, which equals 33 million viewers, a world record that still stands and it’s also safe to say that it will never be broken. NEVER! “Macho Man” Randy Savage defeated The Honky Tonk Man (c) via countout WWF World Heavyweight Championship André the Giant defeated Hulk Hogan (c) WWF Tag Team Championship Strike Force (c) defeated The Hart Foundation

I can’t believe Market Square Arena was demolished due to the fact it no longer met Safety Codes for Arenas and Coliseums. On July 15, 1990, Heavy D and The Boyz Music 🎵 Band Member Trouble T-Roy tragically fell from one of the exit ramps and died 💀 at age 22 years old.

It was a pretty silly design to make everyone go up to the seventh floor to get into the arena. Conseco is much better, but it took some getting used to at Conseco that you could actually just walk right into the building from street level. What a concept!
