Because 10 cheap guitars are in fact more fun than one expensive guitar....
@Markleford7 ай бұрын
Yeah, ain't that the truth? And for all the shortcomings of cheap and used guitars, they also act as a springboard to learn important set-up skills without worrying about messing things up. Once you've practiced those, you can better appreciate guitars at any price point.

HI! It's true, the smell of an instrument is often overlooked by reviewers, I believe it is as important as the color, for a 360 degree sensory experience
@MajorUpgrade7 ай бұрын
I've had my eye on one of these for years, but haven't pulled the trigger yet... 2 things... 1) I wonder if the one they sent you was "doctored up" to get a good review, or this is average for all of us... 2) I can't help but think that now that you've done a review, I will never get the chance to find out, as everyone will scoop and scalp them... SMH LOL. Thank you for all you do. Your builds and reviews are always killer. I love your channel and all you do, man! Also, you should totally revamp, repaint, and mod the absolute crap out of this guitar man. If anyone can do it up right, it's YOU!

If you can and are willing to do fret work, it opens a lot of doors as to what kind of quality you can accept out of the box.
@MajorUpgrade7 ай бұрын
@@yikelu yeah that's true. I do all of my own work, but if I had to choose it would be right right out of the box so I didn't have to... 😁

I sure hope it was cherry picked for me to review. I assume since they sent me the translucent version with the very visible seam that it wasn't their best one.

I have 2 gibsons and they both smell like sweet candy. They smell so good. Be wary if you ever see a Gibson vs whatever blind fold test, you can smell which one is the Gibson

When it comes to guitars being lightweight, that is normally something that puts me off a lot of them
@michaellosh18517 ай бұрын
I bought the same exact guitar a few weeks ago. Overall I agree with your reviews and comments, however, mine came with EXTEMELY sharp fret ends. After my longest playing session (about 2 hours) my left hand was all chewed up. I really need to file out the fret ends! Otherwise it is a great value. I also lowered the action and did some intonation adjustment at the saddle so the action is much lower and the tuning is now better. The other significant issue I have is that I turned my volume knob too far and now does not have a nice solid stop at the max volume. I'm planning to swap it out for a full size pot that will hold up and be robust when I quickly turn the knob to the limit.
@MarkGutierrez7 ай бұрын
Yeah, the consensus is those tiny pots are terrible.

Hey Mark. Thnx for your channel. Your ideas mesh with my interests well. Hey. I have a question for you..... Do you ever sell any of your cheap guitars? I recently got burgled and they got away with my guitars and so much more I hate to think about it. It makes me sick. Anyways, I'm looking to start again and I figured I would see if you are parting with any ..... I would be interested if you are. Thnx again

Why do some of the guitars have more sun and some have more black. The pictures on Amazon look to have more black than sun.

That smell... reminiscent of Harbor Freight? I remember getting a headache from going into a new Harbor Freight store due to all the fumes that were off-gassing from the products inside the store. How does this strat compare to the Firefly?

The Firefly is much better in terms of specs. The smell was like paint thinner.

Mate! Really enjoying your vids 😎👍 I've only been following a couple of months I think, so not seen everything. But... You have a very unique playing style which I dig 👌 Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's kind of... erratic, like "Tasty Chaos" (you can keep that 😁👍) Have you ever did a vid talking about your playing style? Cheers from Scotland 🙏
@MarkGutierrez7 ай бұрын
lol. thanks. I believe I mentioned my solos in one of the Guitar Builders Collective livestreams. All my KZbin solos are improvised on the spot. I found that it is more efficient to improvise than write a solo. The erratic nature is probably due to the fact that I don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going with it while I'm tracking it. Thanks for watching!!!

@@MarkGutierrez Thank you for the reply 🙏That makes a lot of sense mate 👍Doesn't explain your big leaps across the fretboard though - that always nail the target perfectly 😎👌 I also make YT guitar vids (badly) and it can take me beyond 30 takes to get something half decent 🙈 Good tip mate - cheers 🍻

Hi, Fesley do not refer to it as a dinky. That is what I call it. It is the very same one in the links I provide in the video description.

I bought the same guitar a couple months ago. My has a satin black finish on it. I would like to upgrade the pickups, switches AND put on a nice pick guard on it. Since it is a "dinky" ... will any pick guard for a Strat fit?
