Flying Paramotor from Frying Pan Tower across 32.5 Miles of Ocean! Making History!

This was one of the most wild things I have ever done on a paramotor! I launched from Frying Pan Tower, a 73' by 73' platform 90' above international waters, flew 32.5 miles over nothing but ocean until I was finally over land, crossing the air defense identification zone (ADIZ - The flight was done in coordination with the FAA, Coast Guard, and a safety chase boat), then continued to my final destination on Oak Island. Well done on making history. One thing you might want to think about is a couple of loops of rope that you can hook your feet into. it might help you keep from hurting as much. Next time do it with a batter powered engine!

That's how you do it right. When you are planning an adventure that is potentially risky you take precautions. I like how you took your time, arranged to have a chase boat, communicated with the Coast Guard and even brought a larger wing in the case of light air. If someone (won't mention any names) straps some floats on their paramotor, puts a Spot Locator in their pocket and without any other planning flies ten miles offshore and drowns it reflects poorly on our sport. Fly safe.

I liked the tour of the tower , and then to see real sharks under the platform just a few feet below the water added to the tension of what you was about to do. Then to kite and motor off the platform , no going back totally committed . Then to reach 6500ft , really above sea level , your amazing . But then again your flights are amazing as well and why i enjoy your channel . Also you were not reckless about how you did it , floatation . chase boat, coast guard alerted , weather updated , strobe,reserve . Your channel is full of adventures and inspires me to do the same .

Loved this video, Mark!! So inspiring! Curious why you chose the Buzz Z5 as one of your two. Was it for passive safety? Efficiency? (I’m looking for a large, lifty glider for my low & slow flights)

It's a glider I've owned since 2018. It wasn't for passive safety - passive safety out there isn't a huge concern because ocean winds are usually nice and laminar. My main glider was that green Gin Falcon 20m. In the video you hear me talk about winds dying down waiting on the boat captain. For that reason I switched to the larger Buzz Z5 for more lift and a shorter takeoff run. The smaller Falcon would have needed more runway due to winds dying.

(I was assuming you had more than two wings but I could be wrong.) I have a Sky Flux 21. Viper XC 20. Ozone Rush 4 24. Kona 2 24. And I just bought a Buzz Z5 29 but I’m worried it’s too big… My all up on PPG is 135kg and I feel like I should have bought a 26 or 27. 😅 Anyway, again, love the video!
