I've got a variation of the dice game at home, called "Bluff". I think you can play it with up to 8 people, and the way we play it is you lose one dice everytime you get called out and are wrong, or wrongfully call out someone else. It gets more fun the more people you are playing with, since the number of possible dice rolls increases as well. I'm pretty sure there was a single round in which out of 30 possible dice, 18 were the same number. That was actually crazy. I've calculated the likelyhood of that happening, and it was in the 1/300 000 range.

That's the official version of Liar's Dice played in the movie that they were referencing. They released a whole themed set of dice and rules for it alongside a chess/checkers board. The number of dice changing each round adds even more depth to the strategy of it since you'll have to keep track of who can possibly have what as well as what the odds are someone is right vs wrong. Run out of dice and you lose, last one with dice wins. V fun.

How to play Liar's Dice There are two ways to play Liar's Dice. In one, each player has five standard 6-sided dice, and in the second, all players share a single "hand" of five dice that is passed around the table. We'll describe each version and a few variants for each. "Single Hand" Liar's Dice The game is played over multiple rounds. The first player for the first round is determined by mutual agreement or by all players rolling two dice with the highest roller becoming the first player. Play then proceeds clockwise around the table. To begin each round, each player receives five dice and all players roll their dice simultaneously. Each player looks at their own dice after they roll, keeping them hidden from the other players. (If any dice has landed on top of another, the player must roll all their dice again.) The first player then states a bid consisting of a face ("1's", "5's", etc.) and a quantity. The quantity represents the player's guess as to how many of each face have been rolled by all the players at the table, including themselves. For example, a player might bid "five 2's." @@thecrazything95 I do think he should record it at least but begin with a spoiler warning of sorts. Because while it risks spoiling it for so many viewers, I think it's worth it to, one, see the space man play the space game, and two, make more people aware of the game at the risk of spoiling it for them. I do this, and I am sure many others do, where I'll watch the first 30 minutes or so of a game and decide whether or not I want to stop watching and just play myself. My dad recommended Outer Wilds to me. So I actually checked Sean's playthrough (which conveniently went unfinished never getting past the VERY early game), and after seeing the "you know what" explode for the first time in his playthrough, I immediately closed the tab, bought the game, and jumped in. So having been a player who was exposed to the game partially by KZbin, I think it is worth it, especially since you can't say anything about this game to convince people to try it beyond vague descriptions of its genre (of which there is basically no equivalent, so even that is near impossible).

So when the movie first came out, I had no idea of its existence. Then came the video game Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End, where they showed the ability to play this game for treasure... Of course at this time, it was called 'Pirate Dice', and it only totaled up to the amount of dice in your cup. Only you knew what you had in your cup, and the risk was, you either upped the bid or called the last caller a liar, and you only saw the dice of their cups. In short it only reached 6 total dice, and you could only deal in how many of the same dice there were in your cup. Once 6 was reached, there was an automatic call for liar, because you couldnt go any higher. So this game of Liar's Dice, while cool, is a whole different game compared to what I played.
