@@davidmartin516 @MegaXxfirexx it already has more secrets and easter eggs than phasmophobia though, despite being released much later. It also has much more content in each map, since instead of just finding the ghost type, you'll also have to excorcise it. Tbh I really enjoy demonologist, probably even more than phasmophobia. They are also completely different games when it comes to avoiding getting killed by the ghost. Phasmo heavily relies on you having to hide from the ghost, while in demonologist running away in fear is also a viable option with most ghosts. The ghost behaviors also seem to match the descriptions in the journal much better than they do in Phasmophobia. While I do enjoy Phasmophobia's mechanic of having to hide, it gets really frustrating if the ghost spawns in a room without proper hiding places nearby. It's true that you could consider having to hide to be scarier, but it just doesn't work many times. Same with the crucifixes. They don't work half of the time in phasmo, while in demonologist the way they work has been done much better imo. The character- and safehouse customizations in demonologist are also nice bonus, even though they don't really affect the game itself too much (except for the penthouse easter egg storyline, which is pretty cool) Demonologist also just got a new map, while a new one has already been teased. It currently has 7 individual maps, each with their own exorcism and easter eggs, with new map hopefully being released in couple months. In comparison phasmophobia has 12 maps, with two of them just being smaller versions of bigger already existing maps, (the smaller campsite and sunny meadows restricted) so in reality it has 10 maps. Most phasmophobia's maps also just feel really similar to each other, all of the suburban houses just feel exactly same and generic, while I can't really even differentiate the farmhouses from each other. In demonologist each map has it's own vibe and they just feel more unique. Also, when was the last time phasmophobia got a new map? Over a year ago? Latest big update to Phasmophobia was the complete rework of the store and leveling system about half a year ago, which included also a full experience level wipe that everyone disliked. Devs of phasmophobia have also literally said that adding new maps is not their priority in near future, so if anything it's phasmophobia that has been abandoned. While phasmophobia was indeed the game that started the hype around 4-player co-op "ghost hunting" horror games, I simply feel like Demonologist has done many things much better. I say this as someone who has over 100h in both games.
