Some of which are silly and some are scary. "Playboy's Best Jokes", the handbook of the Recently Deceased from Beetlejuice... the pages are all blank. Another book about survival in the wilderness or just life in general. And another about how to be a serial killer. It's meant as a joke, but woven into the book are some very real seeming examples.

i think part of it is that those kinds of games often have you rely on your senses to play them, and since your sense of sight is somewhat compromised by the graphics it just makes you a little more tense when you're looking at stuff. it definitely makes objects you would normally recognize seem a little off.
@L._Vireo6 ай бұрын
@@JustJayYayLow-fidelity graphics are easier to make and don’t compromise the experience when used effectively. The PSX subcategory of low-fidelity games is used by many indie developers right now, which makes the style feel overused, derivative, and lazy, when in actuality it’s just an idea that many young developers want to experiment with. PSX-style horror games are what people like Markiplier are playing right now because the most passionate people currently making indie horror games are gravitating towards that style. makes me wish for a similar game, but with a wholesome twist: "it was a lovely Firday afternoon in my hometown by the sea, and i chose to spend it by fishing on my boat, not far from shore. all was going well: i caught some fish - pretty big ones, too; but i decided to stay a little longer. as day turned to night, that is when it happened... an ethereal aura filled the air: a cool breeze washed over me; and underneath the gentle waves were soft glows. some stood still, while others moved, as if they were swimming. i then started spotting animals that shouldn't exist like Plesiosaurs and Sea Serpents; and if that wasn't enough, i started to catch creatures with the same soft glows under the water, and had pretty colours too. i felt... happy; and peaceful. then, without warning, i caught a mermaid. she was beautiful: she had long black hair, blue eyes, and her tail was pearlescent; and she was voluptuous. i blushed until i was red as a tomato, and she giggled. i then caught a seal, with a baby's face, and the mermaid took it in her arms, cradling it. then it all faded to black. when i opened my eyes, i was in bed. i looked at my phone: Friday. it was a pretty sunny morning with a soft, cool breeze. the day went remarkably well. i spent the afternoon fishing, and stayed until it was night. when i came back to shore, i saw a beautiful girl standing by the docks: a voluptuous young lady in a summer dress, with long black hair and blue eyes. we spent the night together, talking. she was sweet, and loves mythology like i do. i caught a lot of fish that day... but that night, i caught a mermaid. and the rest, was history. and that, my boy, was how i met your mother." the game's basically the prophetic dream of a man's wife and son when he was in his twenties. i was just putting into words how the game would play out, with the "waking up" scenario being the epilogue.

i think markiplier should make a fake three scary games video where he makes fun of us for wanting him to do the scary things (like around 14:50 ) but then the things in the game start bleeding into reality and affecting him, and then the video ends with an in game jumpscare syncing with a jumpscare on the facecam
