In the second game, the towel over the mirror is actually a very cool thing that shows attention to detail by the devs. It mentions that the main character has hallucinations, and people with psychological conditions that can cause hallucinations (like myself) often will have them if they look into a mirror for extended periods of time, thus, he blocked the mirror.

It's been used for hundreds of years and I'm hoping we keep on using for many more hundreds as the first word out of the two that make it up is derived from an adjective/adverb ("ras",related to the verb "raser" with means to shaving, or cutting short) and that stems from "radere" in latin which has the same meaning. Etymology is just great imo, and I'm glad I took ancient greek and latin in my studies because it's helped me in more than one field and it still baffles me managing to remember "useless" stuff like this.
