Oh boy, you save a bunch of “outside the box” creative techniques for this one! Being a newbie, I wasn’t sure how much color would come through the black. But I trusted you knew best 🙃. In the black, I definitely see fireworks in all stages - opening up, fully displayed and fading away. In the white I see the reflection of the night sky in water. The three words that popped into my head were celebration, power and hope. Fireworks are made with gunpowder. As we all know, it’s a very powerful substance. 2024 has seen the use of this in horrific ways. But when I look at this painting, I see us - both individually and as a species - taking back that power and using it for oohs and awe, not shock and awe. I also see this as an external and internal experience. The night sky is for all to see, our united gratitude for the good things that happened in the world last year and hope for a better 2025 (and beyond). The water reflects the celebration of what we have individually accomplished in 2024 - even if it’s only been a few baby steps to where we want to be. It also reflects our hope that we will continue to achieve our goals as we move into the u known of 2025. Happy New Year everyone! I can’t wait to see what “we” will create in the coming year!

Bonjour Mark !! 😀 Cet oeuvre d'art est vraiment magnifique. 🎉🎉🎉 Les cellules sont des éclats de lumière provenant des feux d'artifices qui éclatent sous nos yeux d'enfants. 🤩 Les ballons deep ressemblent vraiment à un mélange de couleurs dégagés lorsque l'explosion se produit. 🎉🎉🎉 Je garderais le blanc en bas parce que ça me fait penser aux feux qui roulent sur eux-même et font pleins d'étincelles de couleur blanche. Ces feux sont souvent fixes et ils sont placés en bas complètement. Pendant qu'il y a d'autres étages de feux qui explosent plus haut, toujours plus haut, remplissant le ciel de magie. 💫 Pendant que nos yeux se remplissent de couleurs reflètés par les étincelles multicolores. Les sourires sur les visages des gens, l'émerveillement des enfants. 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 Cette toile est vibrante et remplie d'énergie positive. 🙌👌💙💚 J'ai toujours aimé les feux d'artifices et je me suis déplacée pendant des années sur l'île de Montréal lors des compétitions entre les pays. 11 feux à chaque année avec la musique qui suivent les feux. 30 minutes de grand bonheur pour moi. 🤩🤩🤩 Voici à quoi cette peinture me fait penser. Hi Mark, Well, you've done it again & given me another favourite but I think THIS is going to be my favourite favourite. ❤ The bright starbursts 🎆 of celebratory fireworks 🎇 over Sydney Harbour & our Harbour Bridge on New Year's Eve are now caught forever on your canvas. The dark night sky 🌌 shows to the best advantage the many colours of the year gone by. The bright colours of the damaging fires 🔥 that then bring new life in to the Australian bush; the dark colours that are left behind by those fires & the light & cheerful colours that represent our Aussie way of overcoming adversity are all there in your creation. 🍻 The typical way Aussies celebrate beating the odds. A few cold beers does the trick. 😂 As I watched this creation coming to life I knew that this will be a creation I will share with as many of my Aussie friends as I can. This wonderful piece needs to be seen by everyone so they too can feel the emotions of celebration, happiness, love, & caring which show through in this piece. I thank you so much for sharing this particular piece as it has given me a sense that I can overcome anything. Hi. Learner question. You say 'Ultramarine Blue and three drops of silicone to add to the swipe.' But then you say 'When I use a cell activator I use Australian Floetrol and Titanium White 4:1'. I thought the ultramarine blue was the cell activator!?

Hi 👋 in this video I use silicone in the ultramarine blue; that’s correct 👍🏻 . In the description box, I add standard info that can be referenced for all videos (so added info in there like hairdryer I use, the formula for CA when I use Australian Floetrol etc) 👍🏻
