Marklin 60948-60949 mSD and 60978-60979 Decoder Installation

How to install a Marklin decoder into a 36xxx series Marklin locomotive.
The Marklin 60948-60949 (old model) and 60978-60979 (current models) come with an additional circuit board. This additional board replaces the board that is mounted above the motor in the locomotive.
The procedure is fairly easy, but some basic soldering skills are required. This clip shows how to do the upgrade, and the results. It is a fairly long clip, but we wanted to show you the complete process. It is a fun upgrade project, that easily can be done in one evening (15 to 30 minutes if you are in a hurry). The end results are great.
