Hello Mark, I remember listening to you for the first time when I was 11 years old (I was born the day before you, but in 1998). The tape I listened to was “The Last Word.” The first time I listened it, I absolutely fell in love! 😍 I got a lot of the humorous jokes! 😂 All throughout my life I had traumatic things happen in my life. My dad being all-types of abusive, my mom being extremely neglectful, and my “therapeutic” foster parents being neglectful and abusive; and 99% of it was used in the name of the church and/or God. So as I’ve finally gotten out on my own, with God on my side, and things turning out better than I could’ve imagined, I was able to finally listen to “The Last Word” as an adult, and Oh my goodness… I don’t think you can begin to understand how much that specific comedy show comforted my heart, and helped me to laugh from my stomach for the first time in years! For the comfort, I especially love the song “Rest in the Arms.” The lyrics of the song makes SO much sense to me! It doesn’t just comfort my heart, it comforts my soul! For the longest while, I truly felt that money could buy an answer to my sorrows. All of my plans for buying my happiness were falling through. Drugs and cigarettes weren’t numbing the pain like it used to. People’s advice wasn’t helping me anymore, they were turning into words to me. The pain of it all was agonizing, it was all so overwhelming. I didn’t want to go back to God. I felt so scared, ashamed, and very stuck. In the midst of all of this going on, God spoke to me. He told me that I will do great things for Him in His name! And that it’s ok for me to turn back to Him. He’s not angry with me. He just wants me to let go of all my worries and cares and give it to Him. Because He wants to hold me, comfort me, love on me, and collect every tear of mine that falls. Because He loves me SO MUCH! I was able to look up the things that reminded me of Jesus! And you were one of them! 😁 My heart belongs to Jesus, so I will say Amen! So you and I are kin! And you belong with me! ♥️😁 So with saying all that, your mom and dad were right about you! God surely did use you! Your comedy is to this day is hilarious and meaningful! To this day, your voice is incredible! I love singing along to your songs (and singing the harmony to your songs 🎤😄🎶). You have truly made an impact on my life and in my heart! Oh yeah! I was born and raised in NC. And I live in Raleigh, North Carolina! If there’s anyway you can come to Raleigh, North Carolina, I would be so happy to see you in concert!! 😁 You are such an inspiration to me! Continue doing what you always do! Jesus love you SO much! And I love you my brother in Christ!
