Its a bit wonky. So Automatons internally say "hey, whatever stats this minion has, give it + 1/+1 for each other automaton you summoned, on top. Now Gravity lapse comes in and "sets" your base attack and health to the lower of the two. Say its a 10/12, it makes it a 10/10. But now the automaton effect kicks back in and sees hey the base stats now are 10/10, so we need to add back the +1/+1 buffs. Rinse repeat. So effectively each stat-setting effect triggers a new calculation of the automaton effect. It's an odd interaction between an aura-effect and static effects.

I trued gravity lapse automaton straight after expansion launch and it only gave +1 attack to my 12/16 automatons... so i asked hat if it was bugged with no response so i pulled it from my deck... has it been fixed to work now?

@@PowerZordan the basic decks weren’t running the strongest cards, which was intentional as they wanted players to feel like they were “powering up” when they got new cards. I looked it up and Stormwind Champion isn’t in a single decklist through tier C, regardless of the playstyle of the deck. Murloc Warlocks weren’t usually as good as face Hunters, but they were decent and all of them ran warleader. In other words, I disagree with the claim that Stormwind Champion was one of the strongest top-ends available.

Ive been using this idea with confuse before. Even with chillin voljin swapping between 2 automatons. Or having a paly with horn of the windlord attack my automatons. I love all these little interactions that they have, its my favourite card in the game

Its coded as aresummon with an aura that sets their stats to the lower value of the one before. So its triggering extra summons for their buff

​​@@jacktweddle3995 Battlegrounds player here, its not because its triggering extra summons, but think of aura buffs as things applied after the static buffs, so what happens here is that the automatons are 5/6 by their effect aura. Once the spell is casted, their static stats get set to 5/5 instead of 1/2, then the automatia aura gets applied OVER the 5/5, adding a +4/+4.

Probably so Priests could use it along with their Rez/Reborn cards. If it was a battlecry, they'd have to give it better scaling, or else it would just be a worse Pogo-Hopper, but without Rogue's many "shuffle copies into decks" / "bounce card to your hand" tricks. I think I just got that Pogo-Hopper was designed to be a bunny on a pogo stick because you're expected to bounce it, and bounce it, and bounce it...

Hah i got this before you, i was using confuse before the expansion and was very excited for this card. Needless to say, its pretty good but can be really bad if you dont draw. Also i recommend raden in this deck.

When you swap a minions stats it sets the current stats to whatever it is. So if they are getting 6/6 from 6 other automatons, they set their stats to their current 7/8 statline, then lower the 8 health to 7 making a 7/7 static statline. Now after doing this it has integrated the 6/6 as part of the static stats and so it adds the aura on top giving it another 6/6 for 13/13.
