The Scourge Rager doesn't even work with the Reborn Paladin Quest, which is pretty dumb. I added thinking it could have a neat interaction with cards that buff 1-health minions, and also advancing the quest, but nope, it doesn't work

I can only imagine it's something like the battlecry resolving before it hits the board. So it's already dead and thus not summoned to proc the quest.

At 8:50 you can see that the encounter of the quest triggers after the battlecry, which means that the battlecry resolves before the summoning triggers the encounter of the quest. The reborn, however, works as intended. Which means that a battlecry that kills a minion is a flaw on the question programmation. Maybe having a suicidal battlecry wasn't a game mechanic they thought possible, back in April 2017. This issues can be fixed by making the battlecry taking effect after the quest encounter

Battlecries generally trigger after the minion enters play, however, it's not the first time an exception has been made (intentional or not... Idk)

i think the reason that it only procs the quest once is because battlecries activate BEFORE the minion is summoned onto the field. since its battlecry is to DIE, it doesnt summon the first minion

The latter option might not work on some opponents. They might concede out of pity when they see you do not know that after silence the minion can attack freely as silence negates ALL card text except tribes and card name.

According to the advanced rulebook: "If the minion being played is removed from play before the After Play Phase, as of Patch 7.1, no Secrets will trigger on the played minion." So, I would assume since secrets don't trigger, neither would Quest tracking. So the original minion dies before it's own After Play Phase is reached, so no Quest progress for that minion. Only the Reborn minion gets counted. Whether that's proper/intuitive or not is another story.

As stupid as it seems, i think it doesnt work because battlecries come before summoning, with this meaning that the board status does not get uptadet until it reborns (as if you actually didnt play it, it detects something has died and then a summoning from the reborn). This is just a theory, i think it could be easily tested with summon-interactive cards like Knife Juggler
