Trump mentioned tariffs and deportation. Tariffs mean making things more expensive for Americans, and deportation will make the workforce more expensive. Both actions can lead to inflation. FED has a dual mandate. Inflation will demotivate the FED to cut rates as the market expected. In my opinion, Trump will not go for aggressive tariffs, and deportation of 1M is not gonna happen.

I sold all equities, sitting on crypto, cash and commodities. I'm not concerned about what Powell said but what the debt market proxy (US 10yr Yield) did. The lower end of the yield and the Fed rate were par and the markets sold off. Since the meeting, the US10Y continues to rise. Equities derive their value and price action from the debt market. I do not like the rising risk/yield from the debt market.

If the US government cuts employment and spending goes down - the stock market drops 30%. The market has been crashing up because there is no way it can pay back its debt - it is unsustainable. It is a completely different psychology. Restoring faith in the US dollar and giving money value is a different psychology than panic buying. Sellers are likely sitting on the sidelines because they need to see commitment from the government to get things under control.
