So, what happened, to my knowledge, is that this was a "collaborative exchange" type of thing. It's a thing a lot of business-savvy KZbinrs do. Normand/Morril released it under their channel as a "We might be Drunk" episode, and Yang released it under his own as a "Forward w/ Andrew Yang" episode. Two different podcasts. So there was simply an inherent tension in the fact that each of them was trying to pull the conversation towards the kind of show they wanted. Yang wanted to talk seriously about politics, Normand/Morril wanted to crack jokes. The two are difficult to mix sometimes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As someone who currently works in campaign politics, I found this interaction super funny. from Yangs perspective of not wanting to "cosign" Mark's jokes, it was funny looking at Yang uncomfortably navigating the edgy environment. To be fair, Mark came in with some pretty wild jokes that are pretty extreme to the average American lol so I can see why Yang would be uncomfortable. Nothing bad here from either side imo. I say if you're the host of a show, you set the rules. Especially since yang is exclusively on a comedy pod for publicity, he should know what he signed up for
