I've learned a lot from your videos after taking up the hobby quite recently, thank you for the respectable amount of work you continue to put in to share your skills and knowledge. Your accent sounds like home, I'm sure we grew up not too far apart.

Looking good Mark. I searched through my plans, of which I have many and found the original Gypsy plan from when I was a nipper and they are spot on 40 inches. Nice one 👍

Thanks Terry, appreciated. Yes the original will have been a well made kit 😜

Nice build Mark. I recently built the Senator from the same source kit. I must admit that I didn't check the plan before building. I have since bought the Senator with a view to making it electric powered and single channel radio. I haven't been able to source a motor that will turn a large prop so am now considering a really small quad motor and prop. It will be a winter build so I'm waiting for something to fall into my lap. I enjoyed the Senator build, I had forgotten how lightweight and delicate 1/8 square is and how lightweight and fragile the finished model is. Also disappointed that it needs quite a lump of lead to balance even with the heavy free flight prop. Looking firward to the next episode.

Nice! The Gypsy/Gipsy was my first encounter with model airplanes, way back in the 60s and I built my own Keil Kraft version in the late 90s. I'm eager to see how you solve the task of combining a dethermalizer with a steerable rudder, will you use a thin and flexible pushrod, maybe a single fishing line of suitable thickness inside a flexible tube, or a pull-pull system? Eagerly awaiting your next videos in this series! :)

Hi, thank you very much for the comment, pleased you are enjoying the videos. I think in this case a Pull, pull system is the only way to go. 😀
